Nope, he loved to sleep. We woke him every 4 hours by getting him naked and putting a wet washcloth on his tummy if needed.
Now at 2 weeks hes starting to wake on his own every 3 hours.

For the first few days, we had to undress him to wake him up and eat. After that, he went through a crazy growth spurt and has fed on demand ever since.

Skin to skin will usually help to wake them. You really shouldn't wait anymore than 3 hours this early on. I used wet wash clothes to wake him up.

I cuddled her and stuck a boobie in her mouth and she would just start nursing. The hospital staff was pretty adamant about nursing frequently or they'd supplement so I made sure I did it and wrote it down. There would be one 4 hour stretch at night they'd let me go.

Yes b/c we were obsessed with getting my milk to come in. It was always such a pain though. It was hard to keep her latched on. She always wanted to fall asleep *while* she was eating, so we were constantly poking at her to keep her eating. Those early nursing sessions were such a pain.

I did at first because 'they' told me I had to. Then I gave my head a shake and let her sleep until she was hungry.

I did make LO wake up for the most part. And if he would have been a super sleepy baby , I probably Would have pumped since I was super scared of not establishing supply ...

Strip him down to his diapers and then change his diaper to help wake him up. That's what I did. I didn't want to wait too long to nurse bc I wanted to establish a good supply earlier on my second time around.

For the first week we did 3 hours during the day and 4 at night. We usually had to get her naked wake her. For the second two weeks we pushed it to 5 hours at nigtht if she didn't wake on her own. And once we hit three weeks our ped said we can let her sleep as long as she wants at night (I still do every 3 hours during the day)

I followed her cues, which usually meant more often than that. But no way in hell would I wake up a healthy baby to eat! Hunger doesn't have to be taught, they know when they are and when they aren't!

That first night we were really good about feeding him every 2 hrs because they were concerned about his blood sugar because of his weight. One time he wouldn't wake up so the nurse told us to undress him. He was all about the boob after that, though.
