Did you feel after pains with your first child? I am 12 days postpartum and I had the worst after pains yesterday. I've had a few today but not as bad as yesterday. If you felt them how long did they last for you?

I had a few 30-45 min stints of them. The last one was 2-3 weeks after I had her. Not often, thankfully! I hope they're over for you soon!

I'd get them sometimes when nursing. I also got a lot of "phantom" baby kicks....weirdest thing ever!

I did not, which is weird, because my uterus shrank really quickly. I hear they get worse with each child, so I'll probably be screwed next time

Yes, I got crampy contractions when nursing, mainly the first few days postpartum.

I've been feeling my uterus contract pretty strongly at each feeding. Not pleasant, but at least I know she's eating well!

Yes I would cramp badly each time she ate for the first week. But after that I was good to go.

I would cramp when she ate (so amazing from a biological perspective, right?) probably for about a week.

I had them for the first week when he would nurse. I haven't had any for the past couple of days.

I did during the first week while breastfeeding. first few times it reminded me of labor pain but then it settled.

Hmm... now that you mention it I did with both boys. More so with my second every time I nursed him and I had a c-section with both. It did eventually go away but mine wasn't really painful. Just like bad cramps for a few seconds here and there. I believe nursing shrinks your uterus so that's where the pain is probably coming from.

I did especially while nursing/pumping the first couple of weeks. They were horrible!
