Mrs. Bee already got hers, since she's pregnant and it's a standard recommendation at her hospital (perhaps at all?).
But I don't have a regular doctor, so I haven't gotten one yet... will have to get on that! I guess I drag my feet because I have a feeble immune system and I am always getting horribly sick from something which ends up giving Mrs. Bee a mildly sore throat for half an hour or something.
Anyway I will get it, I swear! How about you?

I got mine last week. We're TTC and I thought it would be a good idea to go ahead and get one. I was surprised when the nurse said it took two weeks for them to be effective. So far I feel fine and I'm glad I got it out of the way.

I haven't gotten one. I've actually never gotten the flu shot and I'm reasonably healthy (allergies/sinus stuff in spring and fall). I may change my mind about getting once we have kids, especially if we have to do daycare. Last year, the only person in our office who got a flu shot was the only one that got the flu, so I'm pretty skeptical.

I'm hoping to get one tomorrow, my office is having a free flu shot clinic. But I'm going to decline if they don't have the preservative-free version and get one at my first midwife appointment next week instead.

Yep I got it a couple of weeks ago. Last year was the very first time I got a flu shot — and it was only because we had a newborn in the house and I didn't want to get her sick. I'm not sure if it is coincidence, or because I hardly went out during the cold, but last winter was the very first time that I didn't get sick with the cold or the flu!

My doctor, her nurses, and my husband kept pushing me to get one so I got it last week (17 weeks). My arm was only sore for about a day or so.

Got it a couple weeks ago at the pharmacy. My arm was sore for a day, but otherwise it was fine. Last year was my first time to get one -- and I got it because I was pregnant.

My nurse suggested I get it but told me I didn't have to if I didn't want to. The main reason for pg women to get it is in case they do get the flu, it can cause serious dehydration. I'm still on the fence..

I haven't yet, but I"m going to be talking to the dr about it next time I go in - mid-november. I'm in tx so our flu season starts later, I think & that way the babe will have some protection once he or she is born as well.

Me and my LO got ours two days ago. She had a low grade fever for about 24 hrs but she's back to causing havoc again.

I've never had a flu shot and I've never gotten the flu... is it recommended that you get one when you have children since the flu is much worse for them to catch?

I acutally haven't gotten one in years; because when I used to get the shot - I'd get a cold from it...
My OBGYN highly recommended that I get it this year since we are TTC... so I'll be making an appt in the next few weeks and crossing my fingers that I don't get sick from it!

I actually refuse to get the flu shot. Last time I got it was like 8 years ago and that year I got the flu 4 different times. Since then I haven't had one and have avoided the flu, so I just prefer to keep taking my chances.
