My coworker totally expected a proposal and ring on her vacation with her longtime BF last week. Her friends and family can't stop asking about it!

I did get questions about it but it didn't really bother me because we weren't dating that long before our engagement.

Yeah, people started asking us after we had only been together for a few months. It annoyed me in the beginning, but I got used to it! We were together a year before he proposed.

I did not. We were dating for 3 1/2 years before DH proposed, but it was 99% long distance, and I was still in college, so people thought we were actually going to date for longer.

We dated for 3 years before getting married... my sister got married a year into it. We had several friends who started dating AFTER us get married before us.
Similar to @mediagirl, we did... but we weren't that particularly surprised.

We got a lot of questions and we only dated for 2.5 yrs before we got engaged. We also got a lot of questions (from his friends) about when were we going to have kids before we got engaged. Super annoying.

We were together five years before getting engaged and got questions all. The. Time. When my SO started a new job after we were together about four years he just started referring to me as his wife to forestall the constant questions. There was a fair bit of confusion when he finally announced our engagement after referring to me as his wife for a year and a half.

We got a lot of inquires, especially once we hit the 4 year anniversary mark. Family, friends, coworkers... even a comedian scoped us out in the audience, asked how long we've been together, and then tried to get him to propose to me during the show!

We were together for four years before we got engaged, but we got engaged one year after our college graduation...so we didn't get many questions. Everyone knew we'd get married eventually (and even I was surprised at how soon he proposed!).

Yes, all the time. The second we got married, this changed to constant, "when are you having kids?"
