My first elementary was horrible. I can say that in hindsight because we moved to a better neighborhood when I was in 5th grade and the new elementary school that I attended was AWESOME. The teachers were way more involved, there were lots of music & arts classes, and the class sizes were much much smaller.

My first two were terrible. My last was in one of the best school districts in the nation, and I really blossomed there.

I went to one of 5 elementary schools in my city. I think it was pretty good. I loved my teachers and the principal.

I guess so? It was in a nice neighborhood. I got into a special Spanish immersion program they only had there, so I guess that makes it a good school. I can't really remember though or have anything to compare it to!

Yes, my elementary school was either 1 or 2 any given year in my city. One thing that made my school so fantastic was the active PTA.

Yes, I went to great public schools for my entire childhood. Actually, my middle school wasn't great, but elementary and high school were. It makes us really think hard about what neighborhood we will move to when we buy a house next year, b/c we want DD to have the same sorts of options for great schools.

Yep- both dh and i went to blue ribbon public schools... ppl move to this town for its schools. We're eventually moving to get to a btr distrcit too!

Yep. Now, it's really overcrowded because everyone wants to go there which means its not really "good" anymore. I have several friends who teach there.

no mine sucked. it was just a block away from where we lived.
we are going to send the kids to a good elementary!

i think so. i went to an independent private school. it probably wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea (no textbooks, tests, or grades, teachers called by first names, etc), but i think it's awesome & if we could afford to, i'd love to send LOs there, but there's no way we could ever afford it =(
