When you moved from Kindergarten to First Grade, was there a graduation for you? Did you have a graduation from any grade/school other than High School and College?

Nope. I had a fifth and eight grade graduation though.

No, I never had graduation until high school and then college. So.....I think it is kind of ridiculous that my nephew is graduating preschool at the end of this month.

Not from kindergarten. I graduated from 8th grade, high school and college.

Yep, it was in korea. My mom has a pic of me in a cap/gown (that looks like a school photo pose) and i look so miserable.

Nope, I graduated preschool but not kindergarten. I think it makes sense that way because elementary school here is K-6, so they'll still be in the same school after kindergarten. My class has a pre-k graduation in a couple weeks.

Kindergarden we didn't have an official one, but my dad bought me a bakery cake with a yellowbird on it because my kindergarden class was called "the yellowbirds" (each classroom was a different color bird), complete with a graduation girl We had an 8th grade graduation.

Yes I did! I remember hating my outfit my mom picked! And I had a cake!
I also had 8th grade graduation and hs graduation.

Nope, but it has become more popular around here now! I only graduated HS and college!

Yes, but my parents missed it because my brother broke his arm and went into emergency surgery. I didn't know anything about it until the next day (I went and stayed with family friends who had a daughter graduating with me). No other graduations until high school.

I graduated from pre-school, and had a "recognition night" for 8th grade, but otherwise nope!

No graduation until 12th grade! & I tend to think the kindergarten, 6th grade, 8th grade "graduations" are a bit unnecessary... Definitely not the norm where I grew up

@jessiejo17: yeah, I feel like there is more and more "recognize your child!" "Spend money on your child for yet another reason!" occurring these days.

Yep! My kindergarten was a part of my pre-school, so it was our last year there before we moved to elementary school.

Nope. I would love if LO got to though.... any chance to throw a party and celebrate her

I vaguely remember something about pre-school, but it wasn't a big deal. Then not until finishing high school and college. My mom was surprised that we didn't have anything for 8th grade graduation.
I saw a card for Kindergarten graduation at Target the other day and was floored.

We had preschool, kindergarten, sixth grade, eighth grade, high school, and college. I personally think it's a bit ridiculous to have that many and takes away from the specialness of "real" graduations like high school and college. Our 8th grade one was exceptionally absurd with girls getting all decked out in prom dresses to walk across the stage.

Had Kindergarten graduation as well as 8th grade graduation, high school and college.
My 8th grade graduation’s theme was “Tonight’s Tha Night” by Kris Kross (their “come back” song after Jump, Jump). Yes, the “the/tha” was even misspelled like in the song on all our programs, etc. This tells you a lot about my middle school.
I skipped my college graduation.

We did have a graduation. And we sang "We are the World". Well, everyone else sang. I stood there defiant and grumpy because I didn't like singing in public. I was probably an awesome child to raise :o/

We had a graduation from 8th grade, but it kind of made sense. Our town doesn't have a high school and our school contained K-8, so it made sense to graduate from 8th grade. We were leaving that school (and the town) to continue on to high school in a different build (and a different town).
If you're not at least leaving the building - having a graduation doesn't make much sense to me.

@lemondrop: omg! I can't believe they have cards for that!
I only had a high school graduation, nit sure how I feel about all of these graduations in between now.
