I was pretty quiet growing up and didn't like the spotlight (still don't). I never sought out leadership positions and regretted it when I started work after college.
Did you have a lot of leadership positions growing up? Did it have an impact on your life/career?

Gosh no. I hate being in the spot light and was way too shy. I'm definitely not a leader. *bleat bleat*

I had a fair amount, but it was never top of the top stuff... More like "Social coordinator" or "Curriculum council", not like "President".

I was pretty shy, but my first leadership position was at 17. The Taiwanese summer camp I attended every year asked me to lead their youth choir! That definitely was a starting point in giving me confidence. The next year they asked me to plan and coordinate the entire end-of-camp talent show (while also leading the youth choir).
Then in college, I continued the whole show thing and head coordinated our big Asian American fashion show for 2 or 3 years. That was one of the best things I ever did!

I had quite a few leadership positions in high school which helped me to get into a top university. However, I didn't stay as active in college, and I'm not sure whether it helped me or not careerwise. It's hard to say!
