Sometimes I feel like I'm kind of a crazy person, but I already have a private amazon registry, viewable only by me.
The reasoning is so I can keep track of the great items and products I research, so I don't forget what I found and have to research all over again. I'll hopefully be needing all of these things in a year anyway, so why not keep track?
Am I crazy? Has the baby fever reached a new level, or do/did you do this too?

I waited until I was 12 weeks pregnant to start a registry because I was paranoid. I miscarried before so I was extra paranoid.

I don't have one out of fear of jynxing oursleves & this pregnancy. I do have a document with links saved in it for future reference for things I like.

@MH.Abroad: I just thought about doing this the other day! I was really tempted to, but if DH ever found out, I think he would send me off to the loony bin. He already thinks I'm nuts for buying a onesie. So no, I don't have one. But I wish I could!

No, I have to say I did 0.0 research on baby stuff before getting pregnant. But you're not crazy, I would just think of it as bookmarking stuff for later ...

I have one - it's called a Pinterest board! Ha ha. My friends keep asking me "Do you have an announcement to make?" because they're seeing all the baby stuff I'm pinning! So, no, not a real registry, but...kind of!

Technically I didn't make a registry, but every time I heard someone talk about a baby item that was super amazing, I starred the post in my google reader or placed the item in my amazon shopping list to remember. When we found out we were pregnant, I compiled everything onto a spreadsheet so that it's all in one place when we finally go to register.
So, no, I don't think you're crazy. If you are, then I am, too!

I started mine for all the same reasons. DH knows about it and fully supports the insanity.

I'm not pregnant yet so I guess this question applies to me. Yes, I have a BRU and a amazon wish list that only I can see.
My reasons are the same as yours. I've done a lot of reading both on websites and from suggestion on HB that I don't want to forget all the great things to buy. I don't find any harm in it.

When I read the headline and thought it was a public registry and that you were already amassing baby gear, I will admit that I thought you were crazy. But it's private, and your reasoning makes sense. ....and now I'm thinking of starting one!

I feel too nervous to buy anything or start researching anything baby related until after our first ob appointment. The only thing I bought was some face wash and sunscreen that is safe for pregnant women, since I need to start using it now.

I didnt start a registry while we were TTc but I definitely made a mental list of things that I wanted or that we would need. I didn't officially make a registry until I was 16 weeks.

I think it's strange to start a registry if you're not pregnant, but to me a registry is a publically searchable list. A private wish list isn't a registry, so I don't think it's that strange.
I don't research stuff to far in advance though, because when it comes time to actually make the purchase, who knows if the information is still valid. Would you buy a 2015 model year car on research you did in 2012? Maybe you would, but I wouldn't.
