Yes. I called my grandmother all the time and her number had 2 7's, 8, and a 0! I haaaated when I got to the last digit (the 0) and something hit a 9 and would have to start alllll over again!

My parents didn't but my grandma did!

No, but my aunt had a really old one that was actually hard wired into the wall by the phone company back in the 70s when they apparently did that. She upgraded to a wireless phone when I accidently pulled the wire out of the wall in high school

Oh yeah. I can't believe there are people so young that they would have to research what a rotary phone is. That was our kitchen phone for the longest time until finally we upgraded.

My parents never did, but my grandma did. Also, when I was in high school I did an exchange program in Honduras. My first (horrible) host family only had a rotary phone, with a padlock on the rotary portion so that I didn't make unauthorized phone calls, lol.

haha nope. just a phone with a cord, although the girl down the street had a cord so long she could practically go to her room with the phone. I was always jealous of her because I had to sit right by the phone with whoever I was talking to. Not ideal for 10 year old gossip.

We still have one at our cottage. We asked my little cousin (11 years old) to call take-out and he looked around the room. When we pointed out the rotary phone, he stared at it blankly and had no idea how to use it!

There was one in our basement that I thought was SO cool... When I hit high school and though I was super fabulous, I found an old black rotary phone that I wanted to have in my room...so I plugged it in. It then proceeded to somehow knock out ALL of the phone lines in the house...oops. We had to have whoever our phone provider was come out and like, "reset" it. Hahahah.
