No TV or computer in my room! My brother had a computer in his room that I used all the time!

No TV or computer in my room growing up! I would have LOVED a TV. The computer was in my parent's study. I remember in high school, I would sneak downstairs in the middle of the night to log onto AOL. My dad caught me once, but I don't think he told my mom :T

We only had one computer. When I was around ten we got small tvs for our rooms.

No way. If we wanted to watch tv, it was in the family room so our parents could keep an eye on what we were watching. Our kids will not have one in their rooms, either, until they are at least 12 or so.

And I didn't have a computer in my bedroom until I was out of grad school! I think a computer/tablet/smart phone will be a bigger battle than a tv.

We had a TV and VCR, but no cable or anything. Pretty much just to watch movies, our only computer was in the basement!

Nope not in my room. When I was about 16 we got a laptop which I could take to my room but my mom and dad used it too so it wasnt just mine

Nope! Growing up with had one TV and one computer - both were in the living room so our parents could monitor what we watched and what we did on-line.

In high school, the computer moved into the office and we got a second TV in the "family room" which was in the basement. My brother and I shared this TV, but still had to take turns on the computer.

I didn't have my own TV or computer until I went to college and bought them myself.

nope! DH did & it really made for bad sleep habits. not until college did i have a tv or computer in my room. hope to do the same with our LOs

We only had one tv in our house (my parents still only have one tv in the house), and we never had a computer until I moved to college.

I got a tv when I got older (I don't remember exactly when, I think maybe 13 or 14?) which I still actually have...

We always had computers because my dad fixes them for a living. They used to have their own business fixing computers, now he runs the IT dept of a school district.

I never had my own computer in my room though, we just had a 'computer room' with two to three working computers at a time.

I did not but my husband did. My parents had a TV in their room and there was one in the family room and basement.

We had one computer in the house by the time I left for college but I didn't use it yet for anything except writing papers ('95).

I had a tv in my room. When I was really young, it was just for watching movies. Once I got to be a little older, 12 maybe, it was hooked up to receive cable. I got a computer in middle school. It was an old desktop that my uncle built and it wasn't connected to the internet. It was basically for typing up papers and listening to cds. haha I didn't get a laptop until I graduated from high school.

Had a TV and was a total junkie. No way will my kids have a TV in their rooms!!

Starting in 8th grade I had a small TV in my room, but it wasn't hooked up to cable--it was just for watching movies. My parents were big on no TV in my room, and though I hated it at the time, I'm totally doing the same with my kids!

We just had one family computer in the office. I got a laptop as a graduation gift after high school so I'd have a computer for college. I hope to do the same for my kids, but we'll see what's realistic when they are old enough to need a computer for school work.
