I got it in third grade, and so did my entire class. I think there were only 2 kids when I came back -- everyone caught it!
Did you have chicken pox? Or shingles?

Yes in fourth grade! My younger brother didn't catch it from me, he got it when he was in college and was hospitalized.

Yes! Maybe in first grade. I had the worst case... They were EVERYWHERE!

Yes! Pretty sure my whole first grade class caught it. I missed a week of school and lived in oatmeal baths but otherwise it wasn't a big deal. My sister who was two at the time caught it as well.

I had it in kindergarten. Shingles in high school.

I had chicken pox the summer before kindergarten. I had shingles during my second trimester! It actually wasn't that bad.

Yup, twice! I had it once as a baby, and again on 3rd grade. My brother got it, and passed it along to me. I was sad to miss the last week of school.

Nope, my brother and I both made it through elementary school without it so we got the vaccine instead.

Yep, grade 2... I got it from my best friend. I then gave it to my 3 younger sisters. It was a fun week in our household

I was 14, it was an especially strong type, and kinda terrible... But really OK

Never had it. My brother caught it when I was 5, and my parents tried to get me to get it too, but I never did! So I got the vaccine a few years ago.

I had it as a baby after my 4 year-old sister had it. Thankfully it was enough for immunity, as I've been exposed multiple times since!

Yes, I was a baby and gave it to my sister. She was on her way to Hong Kong when she started to break out.

I was in 3rd grade. My cousin had it so my parents took us over for a chicken pox party. All of us got it except for her sister, who was vaccinated once she turned 12.

Yes, in 1st grade. We had gone on vacation to Las Vegas and I woke up with them our first morning there.

Never. Still need to get vaccinated too but whenever I'm reminded of this , I've either been pregnant, breastfeeding or TTC.

Yes, in 1st grade! I remember how itchy and miserable I felt, and I got a couple scars from it!

No! I was actually part of a vaccine study when I was around 18 months old! I was constantly exposed to it...my brothers, my cousins, and a "chicken pox party" in the neighborhood, but the worst I ever got was a very, very mild heat rash that was gone within 12 hours.

Yes, it spread through my entire kindergarten class. I gave it to my infant brother.

Yes, I think I was in second grade. It was really bad. I had it in my mouth and throat and everywhere! My good friend got pneumonia from it, and was in the hospital.

I did and distinctly remember it because most of my class got it as well but for some reason there was one family who told my mom that I was the one who gave it to their daughter.
Weirdly, the last time I was pregnant, my blood tests showed that I'm not actually inoculated against it.

Nope, I've had the vaccine, but I still get checked regularly to see if I still have immunity. If not, I will get a booster shot.

Yes to both, and both are horrible to go through. I recently got over a bout of shingles that popped up just before Christmas. I was terrified of giving chicken pox to my 12 week old at the time.
Shingles is horribly painful, and I don't wish them on my worst enemy.

I had the chicken pox when I was 4 and I think I passed them on to my brother.

Chicken pox. Twice.
First time wasn't too bad. The second was awful.
grapefruit / 4712 posts
I have had them 3 (!!) times. Once as a young kid. Twice in college. The first time I had a "mild case" the second two times I had super mild cases. It was embarrassing to call work and tell them I had the chicken pox.
