For birthday parties you've had for LO, did you just have cake/cupcakes or did you have other desserts in addition to cake? I am debating if I should just stick with cupcakes and make it easy on myself or if I should have another dessert like cookies or something else that's easy. Thoughts?

We have only had one party so far. We had cookies but they were take-home cookies, they were our favors. The cake was the main event.

Fruit, red vines, Hershey's kisses!

It was autumn so we did homemade apple crisp. Yum!

I had a dessert table....cupcakes, nutella puppy chow, pound cake bites, and cookie dough balls

We had cheesecake-stuffed strawberries in addition to cake.

For LO’s first birthday we had cake and cupcakes and cookies were our favor.
For LO’s second birthday we had cake and a candy buffet/bar and some homemade treats (chocolate covered pretzels, etc.).

Rice crispy bars, pumpkin muffins with frosting, and a sweet chex mix.

I'm planning on having alphabet shaped cookies. Maybe a candy buffet too.

I'm planning cupcakes, a pound cake, and a bag of yogurt stars from Trader Joe's.

I'm only getting a cake for DD for her 1st birthday. We're having it at a restaurant and dessert is included in the package. I'm going to do a candy bar and probably get some custom designed cookies as favors, though.

At DD 1's first birthday I baked her birthday cake then my brother brought a green tea crepe cake from Lady M in NYC and DH's cousin baked a "mush" cake.
my mom also made these traditional snacks that are like glutinous rice flour balls dredged in crushed peanuts & sugar - my fave! She made then fresh on the spot so it was fun for DH's side to try something they've never tried nor be able to get from a restaurant. -
We had a dessert table that included the cake and cupcakes, cake pops, along with dipped Oreos and rice krispie treats. It was a lot, but by the end of the party it was all gone.

I made blueberry muffins with crispy strudel type toppings for M's 2nd Birthday in addition to cake, they were a bigger hit and much easier!!

I had cupcakes, brownies, and ice cream at my son's first birthday.

We always have too much food, especially desserts. At my son's first birthday, we had the cake, tiramisu, cookies, and fruit. Most of it, including the two tier cake, was left over.

We are having a traditional smash cake for DD and bundtinis from Nothing Bundt Cakes for everyone else, plus a sweets table with custom cookies, candy and other sweets.

Depends on the theme. For her first birthday it was a winter ONE-derland theme so we had a sweets table with snowballs (powdered donuts), icicles (rock candy), snow covered pretzels (white chocolate), peppermint bark, marshmallow north poles. For her second birthday I got lazy so it was just the cake, nothing else.
