I don't know where this trend started, but I love smash cake pictures. We did them for our LO today!
Do you have yours to share? I kinda wish she was wearing a cute outfit but clean up was easy this way.

We don't have any other than at his actually party. We didn't have a photo shoot... but I think it still worked out.

We didn't do cake smash photos, just the party. My LO is so dainty though it wasn't much of a smash anyway. She took her thumb and pointer and just kept picking at the icing

These make me SO excited! I already ordered Baby Bear's smash cake. I hope she likes it. I don't allow her sweets, so she may go into sugar shock.LOL

Here is one from her actual birthday. I'm glad we did the studio ones because at her party she didn't really eat any of the cupcake or dig in!

@regberadaisy: I made it. I'm not a baker by any means but it wasn't hard to make at all. It was a Japanese strawberry shortcake (basically the same as the cakes you get at a Chinese bakeries) and buttercream frosting. I did practice making the frosting ruffles ahead of time just to build some muscle memory with the piping.

@BoogieBea: wow- great job! Did you use a online tutorial for the ruffle frosting? I'm so impressed!

@regberadaisy: thanks! It was quite fun. The things that pinterest makes you want to try. I just YouTubed how to make ruffle cakes. This was the easiest since it doesn't require fondant. I've since discovered how to make roses all over the cake which is even easier to do.
