Shamefully yes. Perhaps bugs just love me. It was going around the class. We used the combs and the shampoos and got rid of them.

Thankfully no. Lice scares me almost as much (maybe more) than bedbugs!!

Yes.... It was difficult to get rid of them. Finally we had to douse my head in vinegar. I can't stand that smell to this day

yup. i went for a haircut in 5th grade and the hairdresser told my mom. i was so embarrassed.
turns out playing piggly-wiggly at a slumber party is a BAD idea!

no, but my brother and sister had it really bad. My mom still gave me the hair treatments, just in case....so actaully i might have gotten it but I dont know. my poor sister had it for weeks on end, and it was soooo bad. My mom did evertyhing and they even started going in her eyelashes and eyebrows...that poor girl. They ended up shaving her head and cutting all of her hair off
Like buzz cut..and she was 3 and she had really long cute hair. But now she's 16 and she has the hair of a goddess. Long, thick, wavy, and a really dark rich brown.

Not when I was little, despite MANY outbreaks in my elementary school. I got it as a senior in high school from my baby sister who was in 5th grade. Mortifying.

No, but I am so scared since daycare just reported that one child has lice but they are in an upstairs preschool area and DD is downstairs in toddlers so hopefully we are OK!

Yep I did once. And we are just wrapping up (hopefully) our second encounter with it. My oldest seems to have picked it up...we think from a hat she tried on at Kmart. So far we haven't found it on anyone else. We all treated initially but have only been treating her now. Hours have been spent going through each hair strand, laundry constantly, and I've lost 6lbs in a week because it's made me so sick I can't eat...yeah it's a great time...

I never got it as a kid, but I got it from my nieces last year! And it was my DH and I's 1 year anniversary! We had planned to go stay at this local resort for the night, but we had to call and cancel.
I'm hoping this year's anniversary will be better!

Nope never had it despite a few outbreaks at school. My husband has it once after he went to a sleepover as a child...he says even as a small child he knew the house he had been invited to stay over at was not very clean/sanitary. I don't want to be a crazy mom but I don't know if I would be comfortable letting LO sleepover at a friend's house if i felt it was unsanitary

Yes. So groosssss! My dad's much younger cousin came to stay with us after she had been to camp and infected all of us. So, so icky.

Nope, but we did get scabies! It was awful, we're pretty sure it started with my sister who got it from something she tried on at the mall.

yep, so did my brother and sister. i feel bad for my mom because my sister and i have a LOT of hair and she spent hours picking through it. gross.

yes. we rented a beach house right before school was supposed to start(i was starting 2nd great). all the kids got it, and because i have such thick long hair they couldn't get rid of it. my mom had to cut my hair.....i was then referred to as 'the girl with the boy haircut' for all of 2nd grade while my hair. i was traumatized and rarely cut my hair above my shoulders...and when i do, i regret it!

I never got it. As far as I know, we didn't have any breakouts in school either.

It went around our school once when I was in 4th grade (shut it down for a day or two) but we never had the fullblown, but eggs were found so we used the shampoo and comb and all that jazz. It grosses me out as well!

Nope...thank goodness. I even worked at a summer camp that was chem-free and was the only person who could speak Spanish to these poor kids that came from Spain totally covered in lice. They were so embarrassed, I hugged them over and over--so surprised that I didn't get it then! But now everyone's stories have me itching all over
