DD just recently began showing signs of wanting to transition from three naps to two naps. For one, she can last a lot longer now before showing sign of fatigue. I thought at first I was missing the fatigue signs and put her to bed 1-1.5 after she woke from last nap but she would cry bloody murder, then be happy as a clam once I picked her up so she wasn't tired or ready to sleep.
Her daytime feed schedule used to be 7, 10, 1 and 4 (roughly) with 1.5-2 hour naps between each. Today I experimented with purposely changing her naps based on our recent observations. She woke up at 7 to nurse then played, nursed at 915, played some more then went down for a nap from 10 till 1230. DH gave her a bottle of pumped milk (I was out getting a pedi) then played until 3 and went down for a nap. Her nap only lasted 45 minutes before she woke hungry and upset, which makes sense based on her current eating schedule (which she set herself since I feed her on demand).
Should I have kept her up longer or just fed her before she went down at 3? Did you have to adjust you LO's feed schedule when they dropped a nap? How do you shift it while keeping it on demand without messing with the longer wake times?
