We seem to always either have family asking to come over right at nap time or before dinner/bedtime, mostly because this is after they get off work for the day. It is hard to sleep train with visitors over at nap or evening times. Did you encounter this obstacle? I am glad family wants to see the baby but it is hard to find a good time for them to visit at this point!

A isn't at sleep training age yet but I wouldn't let people come over at .nap/bedtime if she were. It could really affect LO's progress with it and sleep training is hard enough. If they can't come earlier, I'd put them off until the weekend. Good luck with the training!

Yes, but it seems with us we have places to be or are out when it's time for her bedtime routine to start. That makes things very inconsistent, but it's hard because we need to continue life as well.

@Bao: I feel ya. My inlaws are the main offenders on this one...they live about 3 miles up the road and they always want to "drop in" with very little notice. Since Scrib is taking three naps a day and only waking for 1 hr 30 minutes in between, it usually means they catch him when he is about to go down for a nap, or when he is taking a nap. And on Sunday when we do church/visit the great-grandparents. oh my. it is TERRIBLE. But it is so hard to say no to people, they all love visiting with the baby so much and have done so much for us so we feel we should take time to visit them. They are always getting him little gifts and many brought us food when he was born. There really isn't a convenient time for them to visit ever so I just have to learn to deal.
