Yes. I wanted him to pick it out himself with some sort of guidance from me (cut & specs), but he thought it was MUCH too big and important of a purchase to do it without my full approval. In the end, I love what I got, but I didn't get my dream setting because I was so overwhelmed with the costs!

I told him my general preferences but he picked it out on his own! I hadn't put too too much thought into what it would look like but when he popped the question i knew it was perfect for me. I was so happy post pregnancy when I could wear my rings again!

Not at all! He knew my taste and designed it himself. He even picked out the diamond himself, microscope thing and all!

I was told to go ring shopping and came home with a card from the jeweler and the ring info written on it, I tucked it in his drawer. We didn't speak of it, but he knew where I put it, and once that was done there were to be no more questions asked until he decided on when for asking.
About two weeks after that we were visiting my Grandmother and she offered us her mother's e-ring worth dollarwise (OMG!) and sentimentally more than any store bought ring could have offered. It has my Great Grandmother's 1951 wedding date engraved on the inside and is pretty opposite what I picked from the store, and I laugh at my store pick and am so pumped with that I have now!
