Ugh, yes- so nerve wracking! C did it for a few days at 5 and 10 months each. I just kept offering nursing, and had my husband primarily offer bottles (I did a few times during long work days for him, but tried to keep that a daddy thing) when he was home to keep the kiddo from starving to death. He got over it after a couple of days, but I was majorly stressed out over it! I did lots of skin to skin, naps, and tried in a warm bath, mainly it just took time to overcome my little jerk's stubbornness

I hope he gets over it soon, definitely no fun at all. I had to pump in between since I got super full too!

@chopsuey: big hugs! have you tried hand expressing into a sippy cup or something like that? That's no fun either, but a temporary solution to avoid a Target run?

Hopefully he's just teething or has a passing illness and will be back to his normal happy self soon! I still can clearly remember how you are feeling right now

@chopsuey: I don't know if it was a nursing strike, but I've had a few times where I've struggled to nurse Xander for about a day. I'd just keep offering and eventually he would nurse. I'm always afraid to offer bottles instead because I'm worried he'll just refuse to nurse altogether since bottles are easier. So I just keep offering the boob and he's always eventually given in and things get back on track.

But I don't know if those were really nursing strikes or not since they never lasted longer than a day or so. I hope things get better with your LO soon!

@chopsuey: awww J i hope it's not an ear infection and the strike is over asap!! have you tried nursing in different positions? A def only does standing up while I lay, side nursing during the day nowadays...and even then he pops on/off a lot.
