I absolutely LOVED my college experience!! I went to school 2 hours away from home, so far enough, but also close enough. I loved being able to hang with friends 24/7, being a part of student organizations and just the overall carefreeness of it all.

ETA: I didn't study very hard but my grades were ok. I honestly don't remember the name of a SINGLE professor!!

YES!!! I absolutely loved college. So much that I would love to move back to our college town just to be around the school.

I didn't get a real authentic college experience because of $$. So I have been going to a community college and paying fully out of pocket so it's taken a really long time.
I loved my first year, I was on campus ALL the time and made a ton of friends. Then after that I couldn't afford to keep going FT so I was doing PT online classes while working multiple jobs... it was rough.

I really enjoyed the atmosphere on campus. Everyone bustling to classes, studying, drinking coffee, hanging out. It seems so relaxed and fun. Having a lot of free time was also really nice.
I can do without the tests and assignments though.

Yes I did. I had a blast and made some (so far) life long friends, plus met DH. Couldn't have asked for better.

Yes - I loved absolutely everything about it. Well - 1st/2nd year were OKAY, but 3rd and 4th year were amazing. I met a great group of friends and didn't feel peer pressured to party every night like I did when I first started university. I'm a bit of a homebody, though I do like to go out once in a while.

That blows my mind, I can probably name almost all my professors! I loved college, but worked frequently throughout so missed out on some of the groups and social aspects. But I wouldn't trade that for debt I'd be paying for now! I don't love it in a way that I'd want to go back - I feel like a lot of people talk really longingly about college life - but it was a great transition time for me, I made good friends, and got a great education. I stay in touch with a few of my professors and met my husband - no complaints from me!

Nope, did not enjoy college much at all! I had a really rough time right in the middle with severe depression and anxiety, and the last 3 years were just rotten! I'm glad I finished (and I work there now! nothing against the school itself!) but it was a tough time for me and I'm glad it's passed!

I loved college in the beginning: easy classes, lived with roommates, easy part time job, doing whatever I wanted on the weekend. But the end of college I had to really work my butt off to get good grades and get my degree, and didn't really hang out with friends anymore!

yes and no. i went to a small-ish women's college, so my experience isn't what one thinks of as typical. my first two years were meh and i seriously considered transferring. then, i really threw myself into my studies during my 3rd and 4th years and as nerdy as it sounds, i really loved learning! my professors were amazing and i still keep in touch with 2 of them. while i think i would have had a more overall enjoyable experience at a larger, co-ed school, i think my experience at my college really shaped me into the teacher i am today, and i am grateful for that!

@scg00387: wow, I'm impressed! Out of curiosity, did you go to a big school or small school? Mine was a big state university, so most of my classes were big lectures. I had very little direct contact with the professors, which is probably why I can't name any of them! Also, I graduated 10 years ago so maybe I can blame it on a bad memory

I loved undergrad. I majored in art so I got to play with art materials all day long. It was a lot of hard work and long hours, but not many people get to spend their time painting and getting graded for it.
Grad school I also loved.... but it was sooooo stressful! I loved what I was learning and I was interested all the time. But I was always so tired and had migraines from the stress. I am glad that's over.

@sweetchic duh, I should have figured, I forget sometimes how different big universities would be I went to a small private university - so I don't think I had more than 1 or 2 classes that were more than 25 people in and most were 15 or fewer. Didn't have to do a ton of general type classes so I had a few professors more than once, I was able to do research with one of them, worked on a grant with another.
I should add, I got a masters from the same school and wasn't thrilled - it was from their business school instead of liberal arts in my undergrad. While I learned some here and there it felt more like an exercise in getting a diploma than actual learning and growth.

Hated my undergrad experience but loved my classes in my major area of study (English and creative writing).
Loved my grad school experience and am sad it's over.

@scg00387: Ahh, makes sense! Although on second thought, I got my MBA from a smaller private school back in 2006 and can't remember a single professor's name from b-school either. My classes were a mix of larger 50 - 60 student lectures, with some smaller 25 - 30 student classes.
Strangely, I can remember some high school teachers names and have fond memories of them!

I love the school I went to. I went to a branch campus so I focused on school. I do wish I had joined a sorority. I did miss out on the partying and the football games if I had gone to the main campus. I still think that I wouldn't be where I'm at right now if it weren't for my school and the campus I went to.

Am I the only one who hated it?!? I went to a fairly big school and was enrolled in a very demanding program. I had no time for parties or much of a social life. I studied ALL the time and I get way more sleep now with a newborn than I did back then!
I would not have the job/life that I have today without my particular school and program, but man was it grueling!

It was okay! I lived at home, so didn't have a huge "college experience" but still went out and met friends, etc. I was glad it was over so I could move on with my life! LOL.. now I wish I was still in school so I didn't have to work

I didn't. I'm a late bloomer. I feel like I didn't become "myself" until about age 25, and I'm sad I didn't fully enjoy my college experience.

Yup - my college years were some of the best of my whole life! I loved the atmosphere. I loved most of my classes. I had an awesome group of friends. I was really focused on being healthy and was in great shape. I met DH junior year and we had a blast at the beginning of our relationship. It was a wonderful time.

No/Yes. I didn't like my first college very much - it was smaller than my high school and the gossip was awful. I loved my second school, though. I joined some groups and clubs and found my niche. It was SO MUCH FUN!

I was a big ole bookworm so I went strictly to class and back to my apartment. I took a minimum of 18 hours each semester so that alone left little time for socializing (I graduated from college in 2.5 years with a double major. I entered college as a Junior). I did join a few school organizations. Reflecting back, I wish I was more social and experienced college more for what it had to offer. I was just too sheltered and an introvert to go out and explore.

Heck yeah. I went to an AWESOME school, and it was so different from where I grew up. I met my bff randomly the first day because she lived across the hall from me.
Granted, I don't want to re-live the experience or anything, but it was a great growing period for me, and I learned so much about myself and what I was passionate about.

Love it, my husband and I could have happily stayed in college forever! I could have studied harder, and worked through most of it, but I love the academic world. Absolutely HATED high school though.

I absolutely loved undergrad. I went to a school about 6 hours from home and in an amazing city. I made the best friends of my life (all my bridesmaids were friends I made in my dorm in first-year and continue to be my best friends). I loved what I studied and also loved the social aspect and freedom.
I really enjoyed my grad program (at a different school) until the last four or five months when the stress became completely overwhelming.

i loved college. i went to a huge public university with a lot of school spirit about 45 minutes away from where i grew up. i have life long friends from there and met DH because of where i went to school. i joined a sorority and a church college group, so i was plugged in right away. that being said, i couldn't wait to be done with the school part. i was over it after 3 years, so i graduated a quarter early.

I loved my college experience! I went to a Big Ten university two hours away from home and had the best time! I was super involved in campus activities, did a lot of volunteer work, and made tons of friends. I didn't study as hard as I should have my first year but made up for it in my second half of undergrad when I really got into my major classes.
I went straight on to grad scho at the same university and actually think that was my best time - old enough to be over the silly college experiences but still young enough to live a carefree life. It was great.
That being said, I wouldn't want to go back to the university years. I can look back and say it was fun but I don't follow college sports, wear university apparel, or go back for homecoming. I graduated from grad school nearly ten years ago though so that chapter is done and dusted.

@sunny: I kind of hated it too... My school was super hard and I saw the sun rise a lot while studying. I wouldn't change my experience because I think it gave me a lot of discipline and determination. Plus I loved the city and the friends I made (including DH).
