I bought her an Opposite of Far wolf mask she wore last night (with black clothes) and tomorrow she is going to be a "polka dot butterfly" so I bought some butterfly wings and she is wearing everything polka dot she owns.

I answered Sprinkles. D is going to be Clark Kent/Superman, so we're mostly using stuff he can already wear. I just had to get the Superman shirt, which he'll totally wear again, and the button-down dress shirt and tie (thanks to HB Classifieds!), which he can also wear again. So basically, I just expanded his everyday wardrobe in order to "make" his Halloween costume.

Making Minnie and Mickey costumes. And by make, I mean cutting out felt pieces and hot gluing on clothing. Super skills over here!!

bought charlie's (captain america), but made olive's kinda... black cat.

Bought, although I like the idea of making them in the future. I'm just not a great crafter and I have zero free time right now!

Neither! It's not even a costume really lol its just a purple tutu dress a friend bought her before she was born & a plastic crown my grandma thought would be a good gift for her last Christmas at 3 months old. She's a princess. Easy, free & I get another year before she even cares about this stuff.

Sprinkles!
I made the tutu skirt, but bought the black shirt, green hat, and black leggings.

Made, but that's a bit if an exaggeration. I bought her a pink hoodie and pants, made a care bear belly thing out of felt and glue, and sewed tht an ears into the hoodie. Will remove them and use the sweatsuit after. Was inspired by the Halloween round up post in the blog here!
I always wanted to make my costumes growing up so now is my chance!

Bought. I'm not opposed to making it, but it was way more cost and time efficient for us to buy it ($10).

Sprinkles!
DS will be Dracula. I bought his dress shirt, the pants he had, and I made the cape.

Made. My mom always made ours, so I wanted to carry on the tradition! Plus, they don't sell Lucy costumes at Target.

This year I "assembled" his costume from a few different pieces that were not specifically costume pieces. I was a bit bummed because I made his from scratch last year and hope to do this again in coming years. Planning on him being a train engineer this year!

Wow I am very impressed by all the home made costumes! My poor neglected DS will have no costume!

I made a dinosaur hoodie and tail - it came out way better than I thought it would and boosted my confidence for next year!

Well, both.
I put some white "fur" on the front of her black tee-shirt and added the same white fur to some $1 target dollar spot ears and a store-bought tail.

@Mrs. Bee: is your black cat wearing pants or leggings or a skirt or a combo?
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@mediagirl: black jeans and black sweater -- it will be chilly. then i bought some ears and a tail and will draw on her face.

@Mrs. Bee: love it. I'm finding the black cat costume to be a pretty easy costume.
admin / watermelon / 14210 posts
@mediagirl: yep! i think she will be most excited about me drawing on her face!

I bought the sweater, socks and hat (all things he'll wear again) but made the kilt and bagpipes

We bought them, $5 each, can't even make them for that cost!

Both DD will be a black cat, I made a tutu with a tail, little fur cuffs and ears. I bought a black leotard and tights and then will be drawing little whiskers on her face.

Other? Lo1 is going as Pail Bunyan but I am just putting him in overalls and flannel from Carter that I had bought anyway. Lo2 is going as Babe. So basically a blue sleeper and hat that I have to figure out how to attach some cardboard horns to.

i voted made, but my mom made it! and i guess i should have voted sprinkles because i assembled her other MJ costume.

I voted bought but it wasn't like a packaged costume. I bought ladybug wings and a red/black polka dotted skirt that I'm pairing with a black shirt and pants.
My mom made our costumes every year, which is one reason I'd like to learn to sew. I feel like such a cop out when I buy costumes!

@HappyBaker: I would love to see your finished hoodie and tail!
I decided at the 11th hour (it is 10 pm here) that E would be a dragon with a taco. (As in, Dragons love tacos.) DH is convinced that no one is going to get it. But I figure the fact that we get it is enough, ha! I made him a quick fleece hoodie, tail, dragon wings, and a felt taco. Tomorrow I'm going to make him some fleece pants if I have enough fabric left over and a trick or treat tote that says "Taco Cave".

My mom made it. It was my costume around his age and then she turned it into a lion for my sister.

Bought it at Goodwill. It's originally store bought, too. I always think about making their costumes, but then October shows up and I didn't follow through, lol.

@Espion: dragons loves tacos is such a cute idea! Here's my dino this morning -
