I made 50% less compared to last year before LO was born! 
I did take 3 months off but still, I was bummed when I finished updating all the data in Quickbooks.... And I am guessing it is going to get worse next year... It actually really doesn't matter too much but it still bothers me and makes me frown

The plan is for me to make nothing once LO is born, so that cuts our income in half! We're gonna see how it goes and I may do something part-time after a few months if we decide we need more income. It's weird to think about--I have worked without a break ever since college! (I'm 29)

@tororojo: Same here. It will be weird. But I should get paid through mid Sept, so I guess my end of year take of for 2013 will only be 25% less or so.

I came in right at the same. But since I took maternity leave and had to have an appendectomy, I'm ok with that. My raise balanced everything out.

Well, I got a small raise a couple months ago but that still doesn't make up the difference I pay insurance since I added DD to my plan. I'm making about $400 less per month so it feels like I make dramatically less.

our maternity leave is structured so you receive 55% of your pay at a cap of 1800$ per month for a year. So yes, I make less, but at least it's steady income (I work shift-work), and I get to be home with my baby for a year.

Yes, half as much since I went from a salaried 40 hours per week (often more unpaid) to averaging 20 hours per week hourly. Some weeks more, some less depending on what is going on.
I LOVE IT!! I still get to keep my foot in the door at work, but I spend most of my time with my boy and working on projects around the house that I've been meaning to get to for years! Also, I get to avoid most of the major stressors of work since I am onsite only once a week, and get to work from home evenings and weekends and have regular tutoring sessions.

Well, I stopped working, so yes. However, my husband finished school and started working full time at the same time, so our income stayed steady

I went back to work full time and got a promotion, so I'm making more - which helps when I miss DS during the work day, I know I'm doing the right thing for our family and my hard work is paying off.

I requested a reduced schedule, so I'll work 28 hours a week instead of 40 and have every Friday off to be with my son. My Mondays-Thursdays will be 7 hour days so that'll make things less hectic in the morning and give us a little more time in te evenings, compared to a typical 8 hour day. I'm excited for the chance to work a little less (and make less) since it means I'll have to best of both worlds! Still a rewarding career and extra time with my baby

Yes. Before baby I would travel and when we travel, we get a stipend. I'm okay with not getting it.

Oh yeah. Especially since I'm a SAHM now since I can't find a job in our new city! I'm starting to freelance some, so that helps a bit, but still. It's a little depressing.

@septemberlove: it really is a great setup, you can contribute financially, which takes some stress off your partner. You get grownup time and a break, but you still don't miss much of that first year of constant changes!
There are times though where I feel like I am doing a crappy job at both, but for the most part, it has increased my happiness exponentially!
