I did all my shopping online this year, like usual, but I feel like there were SO many delays (without notification or apology) and screwups this year. I ended up placing orders that weren't holiday related, so I was ordering more than usual. I know it's a crazy shipping season, but still... I had:
- Bobbleheads I ordered for the nursery from MLB.com were delayed in processing for a week. They were in stock and they didn't ship until the day I was supposed to receive them -- the status sat at "located in stock" for 7 days. "Coincidentally," I got a "shipped" notification 2 hours after I sent in an inquiry via their website.
- A necklace I ordered for my stepmom from Stella and Dot sat in processing for 5+ days (should have been 1-2 days)
- A small order I placed with Babies R Us -- one fitted sheet and two sets of hangers -- came with a waterproof mattress pad instead of the sheet (with the correct item showing on the invoice) -- still have to get around to calling them.
- A T-shirt I ordered for DH from Live Nation was apparently placed on back order after I ordered it, but I was never notified of that (despite my order confirmation email stating that back orders would be notified) so almost 2 weeks after ordering it, I called today to be told it's on back order for anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks. Since I ordered it for his birthday on Jan. 8, that just won't do so I had to cancel the order and find something else.
- A baseball cap I ordered for DH for Christmas sat in a shipping facility in Kentucky for 5 days before moving on.
5 different stores and all within the last 3 weeks!
So frustrating! Now I'm watching as Amazon pieces up a $300+ baby order -- all in-stock items sold and fulfilled by Amazon -- and ships me 3 items here, tells me 1 other item is being prepared for shipping, 14 items aren't being prepared at all, etc.
Are my expectations just wildly out of control?
