yes, but on CD25. my cycles have been on the longer side, but getting shorter about 6 months off BCP. i was on it for 12 years as a reference.

I did, but not until CD30. It was a loooong cycle and I was convinced that I was pregnant right off the bat. But eventually I ovulated, and after a 50 day cycle, AF came.

I did on cd 14 (I was using opks). I think it's pretty normal not to, though!

I just got my Mirena out yesterday so we could start TTC and I'm not using the Clear Blue Ovulation tests.
Would I consider today CD1? since it's my first day off of BC?
I may be totally wrong, I'm so confused haha

Still waiting. I'm temping. I'm on the 90th day of my first cycle . . . This sucks. I'm headed to the doctor soon.

@Crisark: The first day of your cycle is the first day of your period -- the first day you have bright red blood (and not brown spotting).

I am not sure but I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle off so it is definitely possible.

@Crisark: When I got my Mirena out, I got my period very soon after (like, a week or less - hard to remember exactly!). My body went right back to normal.

@Crisark: like yoursilverlining my first post-mirena period came after 8 days and it was super light - 2-3days.
I started temping and during my second cycle, O came at CD 16 and AF CD31.
My second period was crazy though, like all four years worth of bleeding. Soaking through tampons every 1-2 hours. I ended up calling the doc and she said that it was normal to have a super heavy period after mirena and that they recommend waiting 2-3 months before TTC because at first the lining isn't thick enough to sustain a baby.

@oliviaoblivia: My Dr said we were good to start right away and that she's had women not have a period after having it out and just getting pregnant.
IDK. I think I'm just going to let me body do it's thing and when we get pregnant we do.
I can't control any of it.

@Crisark: My guess is that you'll probably get a withdrawl bleed pretty soon, before you ovulate. Mirena is progesterone-based, right? The drop in progesterone caused by removing the IUD should induce (anovulatory) bleeding. The first day of bleeding will be the first day of your first real cycle off birth control. Withdrawl bleeding after birth control usually occurs 2-3 days after your last active pill, so I would expect it's similar with Mirena, and you should get your period in the next couple days -- Mirena could be different, but I can't think of any reason why it should be.

You can tell when you are fertile without using OPKs -- just pay attention to your cervical fluids. You'll get nice and "juicy" right before you ovulate, and that is the best time to get busy -- it gives the swimmers time to get where they need to be to fertilize the egg when it is released. Look for stretchy, eggwhite-looking secretions, or wet and watery ones (not all women get eggwhite). The basic pattern for your fluids is: period, dry, increasing wetness, peak, and then they rapidly dry up until your period.

Hopefully, too, if you see your pattern progressing as it should it will keep you from being sad. It's an excellent indication that you are once again fertile!

I feel bad for thread jacking but I feel so much better knowing so much now.
I feel so weird that I didn't know all of this. But, my first two pregnancies weren't exactly planned so it's so different when are trying so hard for another.

@lilteacherbee: I should have asked -- have you ever gained back the weight you lost that you think might have contributed to not getting your period? If you haven't there's a good chance you'll need to gain weight to start ovulating now. I think I might need to put on some body fat to get my cycles started again -- so I've been reading up on this like crazy.

@Ms.Bucky: Just a little update, I just got AF in full force after just 3 days!!!!! I'm miserable since I haven't had a period in 1 1/2 years but I'll take it since now I'll have a better idea when I will be Ovulating. I feel really confident since my body is bouncing back beautifully!
