I would always pass notes to friends whether I was right next to them in class, or I would write it out during class and give it to them in-between classes. Texting wasn't that popular when I was in school. Did you pass notes in school?

Yes! I kept them all. I found them when I went through my things in my mom's attic. It was crazy to read them all again.

Oh heck yeah! I think we even used code names and folded them into random shapes. So much better than texting.

@Leialou: I found some of my old ones, too!!! It was so funny to go back and read them.

Oh my gosh, yeeeesss! I have so many fond memories of note passing, I think they are in my old room at my parents house. Would love to dig them out!

Notes all the time! That was way before texting was an option. I really hated it when the teacher would notice and take them up, yikes!

During high school my friends and I filled about eight notebooks with conversations, cartoons, and scenes between these random characters. Like in Science class we sent Leonardo DiCaprio to the "Abysmal Plain" (we were studying the ocean and the abyssal plain).
We were such nerds. Ah, the good old days...

Yes, I failed genetics the first time in college because I was too busy passing notes to a friend. Stupid freshman me!

Omg! Yes!! The most ridiculously long note a friend and I swapped in middle school was like 70+ pages. Some was in Chinese, some was in English, and some was in pictures/drawings. haha. We'd always try to one up another. It was crazy.

We didn't have cell phones when I was school - back then we had pagers LOL My best friend and I had notebooks that we would write in and pass back and forth. It was pretty awesome LOL

Nope, but it was very popular when I was in school, especially middle school.

I totally passed notes all the time. I would pass them in class when I was younger but in high school, we would write them during class and pass them in between.

YES, and once, my mom gave a note she found in my pants pocket to my school principal, because I specifically said in the note that I was in Math class, my teacher was being observed by my principal, and I was "taking notes", but actually writing a note to my BF.
My mom was also a teacher and trying to teach me a lesson. I didn't really get in bad trouble--I heard later they all laughed about it, and then I got a lecture from my Math teacher.
Lesson learned.

Yes! And I still remember how to do the origami-like folds we used to do, too!

Of course! We even had a fancy way of folding them. AND I managed to keep a vast majority of them and I am so glad I did! They are in 3 binders FULL of notes and it is so fun looking back and seeing what we were talking about in elementary and jr high! Sometimes I have no idea because we didn't follow the lines but instead just wrote wherever there was space.
