I played soccer for one (in)glorious year... and then in high school I played high school football. In college I played rugby for a year, and then after college I took boxing classes (never boxed for real though).
I believe sports are important, especially for girls. This has to be true, since Nike made a commercial about it:

I started playing soccer when I was 8 and never stopped. I also took various dance classes and gymnatics up until about 4th grade.
I love sports and will heavily encourage my kids to play (or at least do something active) although I'm not real comfortable with tackle football.

I played volleyball all through highschool and one year in college. I was also a bowler and ran track. I think sports are very important.. for health and keeping kids busy. Sports always kept me out of trouble.

I was an avid dancer. I did tap, ballet, and jazz. It was great for the physicality and the discipline it instilled in me.
Looking back, I wish I'd played soccer, but it wasn't quite the big deal for kids then like it is now.

I played softball and soccer before I got to middle school. I sucked at both. In Middle school, we got the options of field hockey and lacrosse added. I played those through middle and high school. In college, I played field hockey on a D2 team and when I left that college, I decided I was done with collegiate sports. I joined a club rugby team at my second college and adored it! I played that until I left college.
I look forward to letting my child choose what sport they would like to play (if they want to) and then cheering them on no matter what (like if they just aren't all that great - like me). 
As long as my child is a team player and has fun, I'll be happy.

The only sport I was allowed to take was swimming - I started young and eventually became a lifeguard. I LOVED swimming. In high school I played softball and volleyball.

I horse back rode for about 12 years, and I swam on our high school team for a season. I hope my kids are in to some sort of sport, but hopefully not one of the dangerous ones (hockey, football, etc)/

I was a poor nerd! My mom had $1k/month for alimony and child support, so that didn't get us very far in Orange County (mortgage, food, etc.). I didn't do any sports at all, but now that I think about it, I know my dad would have paid if I had asked him to.
Instead, I joined the marching band in high school. And the choir. And student council. SUPER nerd here. I only lettered in band and I have a letterman jacket with just band/choir/drumline stuff on it! LOL.

I did. I started out in dance for a year and then that got too expensive. My parents signed me up for t-ball, then softball at the local rec center. I went back to dance for a year and then moved onto soccer. I lettered in soccer in high school.
I was also a nerd.

I played soccer and basketball but wasnt very good at basketball. I played softball for awhile too but was sooooooooooo terrible. In HS I switched to running and then went to college and ran cc and track. I ran with some amazing ladies, some who have gone pro, and even got to race an olympian in a relay race but unfortunately Im no where near as good as the people I ran with so it wasnt as much a race as we happened to be on the track at the same time and I got my @$$ handed to me.

No and I wish had. I was a bookworm and very shy so group activities such as sports made me too nervous. In hindsight, I wish I had. I think I would have come out of my shell sooner.
However, I'm very clumsy so I'm not too sure how it would have worked out!

i was a devoted dancer - ballet, tap, jazz, irish stepdancing, anything you can think of (even a little hula!)
i was also a cheerleader, but never any traditional sports (no soccer, basketball, etc.)

I took dance lessons for 8 years. In high school I was a super nerd and captain of the debate team. Taught me a lot though..I learned great research, speaking, and reasoning skills.

I hated sports when I was younger - I did take ballet, when I was a wee little one and loved it. I wish I had stuck with it when I got older.
