sitting. The daycare suggested teaching him how to go standing because he was wetting his pants when he was trying to go sitting, but I just can't see how that would be more successful! We have to help him push his wee-wee down every time he pees, which is annoying but easier than diapers!!

No LO, but from baby sitting and watching all the LOs grow up around us, they were all taught to sit first. Standing was later on.

Sitting because my son just wasn't ready for standing. My husband is making him a special stool and will be taking on teaching him to pee while standing in the near future but sitting made a lot more sense for us. I think some of it can depend on the age you potty train.

Sitting. Sometimes he stands though, because he wants to be like his dad.

Both our boys were trained sitting. I don't think the eldest has started standing up yet though.

DS isn't even here yet, but I never even thought about it! Sigh - thank God for you ladies, or else I'd never know what to do with a boy!

@ValentineMommy: Agree with you 100%!!! I have a boy on the way and this never even occurred to me! Sounds like sitting is the way to go though when the time comes!

@Adira: Thank God someone told me. I'm sure DH would try to have him stand and pee all over the place. Lol

@ValentineMommy: I know, right??? My Hubs would have probably done the same thing!

We trained him sitting but now he stands. I think it's from a combination of seeing his dad and other kids at school. It's actually less messier standing once he learned to control where the stream went.

Good to know. This didn't even cross my mind! I just assumed they started standing. Haha.

Hopefully sitting. I don't do cleaning pee off my toilets. Men in my house are invited to sit down or to clean it themselves.

Sitting and pointing his peeny down. We haven't had to change pants yet. And at 18 months old peed in every potty at Disneyland.

If we ever have a son, he'll sit. There was an interesting article a few months ago about how the norm is to sit in some EU countries! A lot of men sit here as well because we have unisex public bathrooms with it's own stalls, sans urinals!

Sitting -- he was too short to stand safely while using the toilet and we didn't want to use a little potty. Now he stands because he's tall enough!

Sitting for the first 6 months then he started standing to be like his dad.
