I have had several people caution me against doing the whole bassinet in our bedroom thing. These women claim that going straight to the crib helped their babies get used to their room/bed/nursery surroundings, and all of them (there are 3 of them) claim that their babies were and still are the best sleepers because of not having to be transitioned from a bassinet to their crib later.
I WANT to believe this. Mainly because we have this fantastic crib, and I want to use it! And I don't want to have to buy a bassinet. We have the UppaBabyVista, which has a bassinet, and I can just buy the stand for it, but it *seems* like these ladies make a logical point that if she starts out in the crib, things will be easier for us, especially down the road.
What did you do? What are your thoughts on this? How did the route you took pan out, and would you do the same again?
