I did mainly reasonable but nice stuff--I want this stuff to last through at least two children, so I didn't go for just the cheapest version. So I went with a nice carseat, nicel toys/activity stuff, etc. If you end up putting a lot of expensive stuff on there and no one buys it, you can always change it before you go complete your registry. I think it's good to have a mix though--people often like to go in on gifts together.

I had a mix but most was with our budget in mind.

I tried to include well known brands, quality products, and a range of prices. There are of course some reach items on my list but i hope that everyone will be reasonable and i know a lot will go off registry too and just get whatever they think is best.

We only put things we'd buy, but we did have one or two things that were reaches for us. That is, I think we'd have bought them but I hadn't quite brought myself to spend the money yet (Oxo Sprout, e.g.) It was a pretty reasonable list overall, especially given that we're in a smallish space and didn't want extra baby stuff we wouldn't really use.

We registered for things we needed and that were practical within our budget range - but still good quality stuff. That being said, there is nothing wrong with throwing a couple of splurges on there that are things you wouldn't necessarily buy for yourself

I registered mostly with our budget in mind and the budget of our friends/family. For example, I think the Mamaroo swing is awesome, but if we didn't get it as a gift, I would not be ok spending $240 on it. I also didn't think any of our guests would spend $240 on a swing. So, I registered for the Snugabunny swing ($165), which I will buy even if we don't get it. But, I think this price point is much better for our friends/family, too.

I picked mostly whatever I wanted even if some things were pricey. I would have bought most of the stuff myself even if we didn't recieve them. Some things were definitely reaches (Tripp trapp high chair) but I also didn't expect to recieve as much as we got. The most "splurge" items we bought ourselves and I didn't expect anyone to buy them for us (UBV stroller & Naturepedic mattress).

I figure most people look at a registry list with a budget in mind-- like, say I want to spend $50, I'll look at see what is in that price range or would add up to that price range. So, it could be that they want two fancy towels that add up to 50, so I'll go for it, or they might have registered for the cheapest pack and play. It's not like people are saying, I'm buying X no matter what it costs!

So I registered for things that were the item I want, which takes price into account, even if I might not necessarily buy it form myself if I don't get it. But I did try to keep it to necessities, as much as I could, since I know people will still be getting cute things off registry anyway.

Like @regberadaisy: if someone wants to spend X dollars on me, I'd rather 2 or 3 items or whatever than one splurge that I don't think is necessary.

However, if anyone offers to buy me the UB Vista, I'll happily take them up on it

There were probably less than five items I registered for two different brands hoping for the off-chance I might get one.
But my family isn't "well-off" by any means and neither is extended family so if anyone spent $100 that would be SO GENEROUS!! I think post people keep gifts around $30 and maybe $50 for closer family/friends. We bought 75% of the big stuff on our own (crib, mattress, furniture). MIL went in on our stroller with some other family which was totally awesome! I wish more people thought like that

SO with that in mind I definitely registered for budget items that were highly rated.

We registered for things we would buy ourselves.
We made ours really late, and a bit reluctantly because we didn't want gifts (no baby shower) but our friends kept asking us to put one together so they can get us what we need versus just random stuff. So everything on our registry is stuff that we were planning to get anyways - which works out because now we can get a discount on them once we pass the fake "shower date" we had to put on the registry.

I did a combination, I knew I wanted a nice video monitor, nice swing/bouncer/rock n play but other things such as blankets (besides A&A) and gender specific items I went for a budget friendly thinking a lot of these things might need replacing before baby #2.

Same as PP we only registered for items we would buy ourselves.
