When we had DD, we had chosen both a girls name and a boys name. When she was a girl, we filed away the boys name to save fro #2. We're TTC right now, and I don't think I even like that name any more.

Sort of. We had a girl name but I came up with a middle name I like better!

This happened to us. We had some front runner boy names that we didn't like anymore when I got pregnant again. (And we had another girl so it didn't matter).

We had multiple girl names because we didn't name her until she was born. I still like one but don't like the others anymore.
If we ever have another girl, I wouldn't use any of them. Lol

We had 3 first middle name combos picked out for a girl when we had DS, but none of them were in the running for a girl this pregnancy - we picked a name that wasn't on the list at all (granted we are having another boy so it doesn't really matter )

I just stumbled upon my list for #1 and I'm surprised by a few of the names on it - I don't like them at all! But our first choice for #2 is on it, despite the fact I don't remember it from last time!

Yep!! Before lo was born, we decided on Rosalie for a girl and Judah for a boy, but I'm pretty much over Judah now. I'm pretty sure we will now be using fil's name anyway if we have a boy for #2 since he just passed away, and it's Jewish tradition to honor loved ones who have passed. And I like the name anyway

Yeah our second place name for DD1 doesn't coordinate with the name we chose for her so we ditched it when we were coming up with names for DD2.

Our LO is only eight weeks old, but I'm already "over" the name we had picked out for a boy. Everyone loves her name so much, and the boy name just feels "eh" in comparison. I'm not sure that the other girl name that was a possibility works well with DD's name, so if we have another, I think we will be starting from scratch either way.

All our girl ones I don't like at all. We didn't seriously discuss girl names, because we were pretty sure we were having a boy and confirmed it at 19 weeks. But the ones I wrote down for the baby book.... Blah! Makes me nervous that the girl name I love now I won't like eventually!?

When I was pregnant with DS we had picked Anna Zoey as our top girl name. But now almost 3 years later and I'm pregnant with a girl and we're kind of over it. Anna was my favorite name for years and there's a family tradition of using Anne. But the whole name feels dated and too prevalent now. Especially because of Frozen, even though it's pronounced differently.

@ShootingStar: the pronunciation of Anna in frozen would be even more of a deterrent for me. I wouldn't want her to have to correct every single girl in her kindergarten class who grew up with AH-na you know? I also really like that name but wouldn't use it because of frozen.

DD's name was on our name list for DS (we were team green), but it's a family name and was ultimately using it was non-negotiable for DH. But before we knew we were having a girl none of the other names made the list. And we had a hard time agreeing on one boy name for DS, but had a ton of ideas the second time.

@Foodnerd81: Exactly, the pronoun citation makes it worse. Plus DS is so obsessed with that movie, I thought he'd be confused. And a little jealous too.

Sort of. We loved the name Brooklyn for a girl before we ever got pregnant with out first, but by the time we were making our list of names it was everywhere so we took it off. I'm almost hoping for a girl this time because there was a girl name on our list that we both still absolutely love, but I don't have any boy names yet.
