Our hospital doesn't have one, although they will lt you talk it to the nicu if another baby is the already. I think other than that they require a parent with th baby at all times.

My hospital didn't have a nursery. The baby had a crib and everything next to my bed. I didn't even have an option to send her to a nursery!

We sent her to the nursery both nights we were there and will do it with all future babies as well. I sense a lot of judgment attached with sending the babies to the nursery. We sent her with trained, licensed professionals not random 12 year olds playing video games. We were so exhausted that she was better off in their care for a few hours any way. The nursery was centrally located so I could hear if she was crying and they brought her right in.

Heck yes. I couldn't sleep with him in the room.

From what I hear from other moms, our hospital doesn't really take baby away ever. You have the baby 24/7.

LO did hang out with the nurses for a few hours so I could get some sleep on the first night, I was exhausted after being in labour for almost two days and was feeling pretty overwhelmed.

For number two I think I'd like to go home straight away so we can sleep together and have a better start to the feeding and bonding process.

I did both times. Only during the night.

My hospital didn't have a nursery. I had a private room and DS roomed with me for our entire stay.

Nope - our hospital doesn't have a nursery for well babies and I didn't want to part with DD anyway! I had a shared room so DH couldn't technically stay the night but he stayed through most of it both nights and then went home during the day to get some sleep and shower. I was also able to sleep when DD slept so I never reached that point where I needed a few hours of uninterrupted time to sleep and recover.
