My sister and I shared a room for a while when I was in high school. We got along great, EXCEPT when it was time to clean!
What about you? Did you ever share a room with a sibling? Do/will your LOs share a room?

Until I was 4 I shared a room with one of my brothers, and then once he hit 8 or so he moved in with the other two brothers.
Then my parents got divorced, my dad got remarried and I shared a room with my stepsister off and on until I was 14 or 15, when I got my own room.
As for my LOs (if we have another LO) it'll depend on whether we have another boy or a girl and how much space we have to spare.

Yepp, my sister and I shared a room until we were in our preteens. I loved it!!! Our LOs will be sharing a room for awhile at least. It won't be too long because it'll be boy/girl but I think it'll be fine! ETA: We have another room that we could put baby sister in but I don't really have it in me to decorate another nursery at the moment, I really want to keep the other room as an office/storage space and I'm excited about the prospect of adding some Wendy touches to DS' Peter Pan nursery

I didn't have my own room until I became an RA in college! That was so lovely
Shared with my sister (she's a year younger) for almost our entire lives at home.
Hopefully if we have another LO they will have separate rooms, but we live in a 2-br right now.

I shared a room with my older sisters when I was a kid. They were 9-11 years older than me. Once I had my own room, my parents decided to have my younger sister (9 years younger) share a room with me. She was used to co-sleeping with them, so we shared a bed too. I preferred having my own space and didn't like sharing.

I shared a room with my sister (13 months older than me) from pretty much the day I was born until she left for college at 18. Most of the time it was fine - I was neater than she was so we had some epic battles about her messy side of the room, but we also had a great time playing together and would stay up late into the night gossiping all the time. We always said we hated it, but we really didn't. I missed her when she went off to college and I had my own room.

Yep! My sister and I actually chose to share a room at one point so that we could have a play room. That lasted until the end of middle school and then we got our own rooms again. I didn't mind sharing a room, but I think my sister hated it. I was a deep sleeper and she was a light sleeper, so anything I did woke her up.

@jhd: yup, i shared a room with my sis until middle school... and i want my children to share a room too. i think it promotes bonding! i should go research that to see if there's any truth to that..

Yep. It was me and my younger twin sisters in one room. I think I finally got my own room in middle school but that was out of a need for space. We shared a bunk bed. The bottom bunk was a full bed and I had the top. It worked for us. Of course we all wished we had our own room but it wasn't an option so we didn't think about it too much.

I shared a room with my two sisters until I moved out. I didn't mind. The bedroom was mostly for sleeping so I didn't feel a need for privacy. My LO will probably share with a sibling. Hopefully they don't mind. If they share I can make a playroom. I really want to create an indoor ball pit!

Nope, but I have a brother not a sister. I had my own room and from 11 on I had my own bathroom, arriving at college where I could literally reach over and touch my roommate from my bed and shared a bathroom with a whole floor of other girls was a shock to say the least!

My brother and I shared a room until I was in 4th/5th grade. We moved to a bigger house so we got our own rooms then. When we did share a room, we had a bunk bed at first before we got two separate beds.

No, I was 1 of 3, but had 2 brothers. My brothers shared a room and I got my own.

nope...one of the perks of being the only girl with a family of 3 kids!

Yep, other than the less than 2 years between me and my next sister, I shared a room with at least one sibling, usually more, until I was almost 18 and moved in with my grandparents.

We grew up in a 3 bedroom (and 3 girls) so we usually shared. I shared with my sister 20 months younger than me while my youngest sister had the small room/nursery. Eventually I got the small room because I was deemed old enough to need my own room. I feel like we switched around who got the single room sometimes. Eventually around 4th or 5th grade my parents moved me up to the attic after finishing it up, it was AWESOME. And HUGE. I had 3 beds up there. And a typewriter. When we moved for a year it was to another 3 bedroom but my sisters shared, after that we always had our own rooms. I don't know that I minded sharing when I was younger but I think it only gets harder when you have to go from having your own to sharing!

I shared a room until I was a junior in high school. I think it was a good lesson and one I would love to pass on to my kids.

Nope... except for one year when my parents were renovating our house. Then we were down a bedroom, so I had to share for a while.

Until I was like 4 my sister and I begged my mom for bunk beds, but once we moved we each had our own room!

Yup. I shared with my older sister when my younger sister was born-- we got a long great, except for fights about cleaning the room-- it was always the other one who was messy. I remembering building blanket forts in between our beds and sleep in there.
When my youngest sister was born, older sister moved to an upstairs bedroom and next younger and I shared, but we did not get along as well. Eventually my parents built an addition on the house so we could each have our own rooms just to avoid the massive fights! Funny thing is, we all love each other and are really close now!
So, I shared a room from almost 3 yo to 8 yo or so. After that I used to sneak into older sister's room at night anyway

I always had my own room except the summer when I was 10 and my parents were building a house and we lived in a 2 br rental. I have fond memories of sharing the room with my brother, who is 2 years younger. We would stay up late watching baseball games or old movies on TV. Out parents were totally lax and let us have an old tv in our room, but that was also the only time either of us ever had a tv in our room. .

I always had my own room. I can't imagine sharing with my siblings! They're messy!
