Just renewed our summer veggie share! Waiting on half a heritage pig that is going to the butchers soon.

We do a veg, meat, and dairy share. I'm looking forward to it starting up again.

I have never done it. I'm concerned we wouldn't use all the produce before it goes bad.

@oliviaoblivia: ooh can't wait to start a dairy share when M is old enough. Wish we can do a meat share too but for the time being half a pig will have to do.
I see you're in TO, how far are the farms?
@Leialou: many farms offer different size shares for this reason. We started off our first year with a individual share then the next size up is a full then a family share.

Yes- ours is organic and local fruits/veggies/herbs; runs April through mid December. Excited for it to start up again!
ETA: my aunt and uncle have a small farm and I'm hoping to split a half a cow with my parents when it's time.

We are looking into them for produce in case our first garden doesn't work out as planned this summer.
We did a meat/egg share last summer and it worked out wonderfully! I imagine we'll do it again this year. Those eggs were deee-lish!

I would if DH was more into it. But he doesn't eat enough produce and I barely eat enough to get through it all before spoiling, even just a 1 person share. I like going to farmer's markets, though!

We were just talking about it this past week. We are planning on signing up for this season.

DH & i were looking into some this weekend. i'm going to see if my parents want to split a portion of a cow because we just don't have space for even the smallest share they offer =/ also there is a farm that uses a point system that i'd like to join, that way we have some control over what we get because i'm kind of a picky eater but don't want to waste. we have 2 farmers' markets within walking distance though once the weather warms up, so we visit those as well =)

@dagret: If you don't mind sharing, which one did you join? We moved back last year and the one we joined we weren't all that impressed with so we want to try a different one this year.

@Maysprout: spiral path farm. I have heard good things about strites too- theirs isn't organic but you get more fruit from them than spiral path.
