My daughter wanted nothing to do with swaddling, so we only did it at night, when she was too tired to fight us. After a few weeks, we gave it up entirely, and behold, she started STTN. I think it's totally fine to just swaddle in the evenings.

We only did for night and naps. I wouldn't do it all day long, I'd want her to be able to stretch out during the day. Ahh those newborn stretches are so cute!

@sandy: same, naps and bedtime. She wouldn't stay asleep without it.

The first 2 weeks, but she only liked arms out. Then we switched to the Halo sleep swaddle sack only at night.

Only for naps and bedtime, once the swaddle was on and binky was in, it's like E knew it was time to sleep!

What are these newborn naps I keep reading about? My LO sleeps all day, wakes up to eat, and then cries until she falls asleep again!

We only swaddled for sleeping time. DS was a lazy eater so we had to practically strip him down to keep him away enough to eat!

No, LO hated being confined, so I figured in the R&P she had enough "comfort" and we never had issues with sleep.

As one of the 5s's, we'd swaddle if he was fussy and couldn't calm down. Otherwise, we really only swaddled for sleep.

We only swaddle at nighttime. I tried swaddling her yesterday during the day for a nap so shed sleep in her crib but it didn't work.
