Did you switch from an iphone to Android and prefer it or regret it?

I switched from an original Motorola Droid (bought in 2009) to an iPhone 4s. I know I can't compare phones from two years apart, but I just haaaated the Droid. The camera was terrible, the app store was super awkward, and the whole interface was just very clunky to me. I plan on upgrading to an iPhone 5s, mainly for the familiarity, the camera, and the fingerprint sensor (no more passcodes!!)

DH switched and at first the droid was okay...but then he started hating it. It's the HTC one and it's not as convienent as the iPhone.

@Shutterbug: I had a fingerprint scanner on the laptop I had 4 years ago and it never worked well at all... certainly hope Apple's one works better.

@pui: so did my DH (IBM/Lenovo?) but just like it's not fair to compare technology from 2 years ago, it's not fair to compare your 4 year old computer That being said, I'll probably wait a few weeks just to be sure it's not a colossal failure!

@Shutterbug: I wasn't comparing it, just saying I hope it's improved, because my laptop's one was pretty bad lol. I had an Acer.

That said, I'm a little worried about the "tap anywhere at the bottom and homescreen"! I'm concerned it would either open to anyone or need you to hold longer than a "tap" to scan your finger to actually secure your phone. We'll see how it works when it comes out.

Let's all remember that you're comparing the iPhone to quite a large number of phones! Samsung, lg, HTC, Motorola... What you're really comparing is the droid os to iOS.

@Mrs. High Heels: i pay for dropbox and google drive, and i prefer dropbox. most of my photos are on google drive, but i'm moving them over to dropbox.

@Mrs. Bee: Out of curiosity, why do you prefer DropBox?

@mrs. wagon: That's not completely accurate... hardware makes a big difference to the speed and smoothness of the interface. I think it's only really fair to compare iPhones to higher end or newer Android phones. There are a lot of crappy phones with Android installed on them.

@pui: it just seems faster and i prefer the sharing interface.

@pui: yeah, that's what I meant! not really fair to compare an original droid with a newer iPhone.

@mrs. wagon: Ah! I got a backwards meaning from your post! My apologies!

I didn't switch, exactly, but I did go from using an iphone (that wasn't mine) to getting a samsung galaxy s2 and I much prefer androids. I like how you can set them up the best way for you and I love the back, home, and menu buttons.
