I took Honors English and Science classes, and my senior year I took an Honors Math class. I hate math, and struggle with it, and was only placed in the class because I needed the math credit to graduate and it was only one available in a period that worked. Ironically, it was the first math class I took that I actually got an A in...and first competent math teacher I had.
I could have taken AP English and Science classes but I knew how much extra work they were and with my Yearbook commitment I would have been overloaded and something would suffer. Plus I figured the sort of college programs I was hoping to get into it would be more interested in my position/work on the Yearbook staff and high grades in my classes than the fact that I opted for Honors classes over AP classes.
The college credits would have been nice though!
