I never took the school bus! I always took the train to school because my local school district was really bad.

Starting in middle school and into high school I did. I lived with just my dad and he had to leave for work too early to take me and it was faster riding home.

yep, always took it in the am, but not in the pm until late middle school/high school before i drove. my mom used to pick us up after work.

I took the bus throughout school but it was off and on.
In elementary school I rode to/from everyday, except when I was a patrol officer and had to get there early to walk the littlest kids from their busses to their classrooms.
The same for middle school, except on days when I had dance class earlier than I would have gotten home on the bus. My mom picked me up those days and I changed in the car (into tights and a leotard... how did I manage that?!).
In high school I took the bus for about a week before my mom started driving me to/from because by then the bus was pretty much just full of hooligans. Sophomore year a friend of my older brother drove me to/from school, and my mom picked me up if I had a club or practice. Junior year a friend and fellow cheerleader drove me to/from. Then Senior year I drove myself!

I did in elementary school. My mom took me to middle school and my sister took me to HS until I could drive myself

i never took the school bus either!
elementary school = walk (10 minute walk)
high school = bus, train, bus (an hour commute)

I did in middle school and my first year in high school. I loved it in middle school (we lived pretty far from school, so it was a good time to hang out with friends or catch up on homework!!) but by high school it got old!

I took the bus from 3rd to 5th grade. After that it was either a walk to school or public transportation.

Nope. Daycare took us in elementary school until I was old enough to walk myself, then I walked to school until I could drive at 16.

The bus never came near to my house, so I walked quite a distance to school each day. I would've loved to take a bus instead!

Yes. I took the school bus from pre-k through 8th grade then the metro bus in high school

In elementary school I did. In high school the bus didn't come my way so I had to take public transit.

In Junior High and HS, I took pubic trans- bus or subaway. When we moved in my last year of HS I took the school bus. There was maybe 7 kids on my route.

Not once! Walked/rode my bike in elementary/jr high and drove/carpooled in high school.

Nope, I was always within walking distance to my schools. I hated walking to school and would always be jealous of kids who rode on the bus.

Off and on until 10th grade, depending on where we lived. When I was really little I could walk with my brothers to school, then we moved and we all took the bus, then I could walk to my junior high, then I rode the bus in 9th grade.

Yep! Every day until my older brother got his license and then he drove me. Though he often did sports after school, so I had to take the bus home.

Yes. I think it was a good experience. I want my kids to ride the bus, but I'm stuck behind school buses when I am on my way home (at 5:00 pm) that they probably wouldn't ride home unless I'm in a different district.

Yes, until I got my license and could drive myself. I would still take the bus once in awhile after that, but it was much easier to get myself home from sports practices and games if I drove, and it freed up my parents from having to come get me late in the evening.

Yes, until I was about 17. I hated the bus. I hated it so much that if LO doesn't like riding it, I'll go out of my way to take him/pick him up from school.

Never! My elementary, middle, and high school were next to one another, and all within a 15 minute walk from my house. In high school I sometimes got a ride from friends, but never drove myself since I didn't have a car in HS.

I rode the bus K-7th grade and hated every moment of it. My children will not be bus riders as it was a very unpleasant experience for me.

I only took the school bus 1 semester when we temporarily living in a different town, otherwise I walked in elementary and middle school because it was really close to my house. My first year of high school I took a public bus, but after that I changed schools and either bummed a ride home from my parents or friends or walked. Or occasionally took a public bus, but I had to walk like halfway home just to get to the bus stop so I usually just walked. I actually didn't get my driver's license until after graduation! I lived in the center of my town so I could always mooch a ride or walk.

Nope, I lived close enough to all three schools that I was considered a "walker". Our nanny dropped us off and picked us up from elementary school because we were young but otherwise we walked.

Nope, my mom always took us to and from school in elementary. In middle and part of high school, I rode with my mom's friend who was a teacher at the middle school. Then, I drove myself and my little sister when I got my license.

Only in middle school because it was a town away. In elementary one of my parents took/picked me up daily and in high school I rode with friends until I was old enough to drive.

I rode the bus home in kindergarten. Then one day the teachers assistant put me on the wrong bus and I got lost for a good 2 hours. When I didn't get off the bus with my sister my dad went berserk and we didn't ride the bus after that. I got dropped off to school by my mom.
Then in 3rd grade or so my mom threatened to make us ride the bus to school if we kept sleeping in and making her late to work. She finally did. That lasted about a year. My dad picked me up.
