I never really understood this tradition, and for whatever reason I wasn't all that excited to graduate from either high school and college. So I didn't throw my graduation cap into the air during either graduation. I think I threw it away at some point later that day...
Did you toss your cap into the air during graduation? Were you excited when you graduated from high school and/or college?

Nope. We were told not to. Some people did anyways, but I didn't want to lose mine!

I remember our high school graduation caps came with a disclaimer from the company that you could injure yourself or others by tossing your cap in the air 
Anyways, I didn't toss mine at either graduation b/c I wanted to hold onto it...

Yes... I think I have my college one in a box of memorabilia in my condo, and I'm pretty sure my high school cap is at my parents' house in my closest. On second thought, I might have just saved the tassels. I'll have to go look...

We didn't have caps in high school. We did in college but I can't remember if we tossed it or not, oh dear ....

I didn't. For high school I wore my brother's hand me down hat so I didn't have to buy my own. It was a little different from the others, so I didn't want to lose it.

No, we weren't allowed to. I wouldn't have, anyway, because I wouldn't have wanted to lose it. I still have all 3 of mine - high school, undergraduate, and graduate. They're in a box with a bunch of other memorabilia.

I did in HS and like other posters, it came with a "warning/disclosure". Too funny. I tossed mine straight up and not too high so that I could easily retrieve it for pictures after the ceremony. I don't think I did in college.

I think I did in HS. When I graduated with a B.A., I didn't even walk, I just went and picked up my diploma and had a party with friends. When I got my Master's, I did walk, but no one really throws their cap--it was all masters and ph.d candidates.

I did for high school. I was hoping to see which cap I got when it came down but then I got my somehow managed to catch my own.
I don't think we did it for college graduation.
