When I would have a contraction, the nurses would tell me to push and I tried SO HARD to make them happy by pushing "properly." They kept telling me to push like I had to poo and when I couldn't do it properly, I apologized. I just wanted to keep hearing them say, "That's it! Keep pushing just like that!" Haha.

Kind of. When I got to the hospital I was 9 cm along, but no one believed that I was so close until they checked me. It seemed like it was taking for.ev.er and I was not interested in changing and signing paperwork... I may have yelled at a few people. I apologized to them all later.

I was in labor so long, I had a million nurses. However, when I was actually pushing, my nurse was the only person in the room that I liked. I hated everyone in that room for no good reason. Sorry doctor, med student. . . . and DH.

I don't think I went out of my way to make them happy or get on their good side but I tried to be polite and understanding and realized that having a baby isn't an excuse for being rude.

I wanted to meet my baby. I still had good spirits at that point so I didn't feel like "get this baby out!" but I didn't really care what the nurses thought either. I did it because I wanted to hold my babe! And because they were warning me that we were approaching the 8h mark and the epi would wear off...or they could give me a booster but that booster would make me unable to push because it would make the epi so strong. So, I knew I had limited time.

No...in fact when I was pushing, I was really rude. But, one nurse was pushing on my abdomen and trapping my leg and I was SO annoyed by this. I told her to get off me.
This time around I'm at a birth center, so hopefully I'll be kinder to my midwife, lol.

I had a student in my room and I was her first birth. I wanted to make it a good experience for her so I was trying extra hard to not act like a crazy person and make everything go smoothly. I'm a crazy person, I know!
Plus DH was having back problems so I told him to sit down while I was pushing because he looked like he was in pain. The nurses looked at me like I was psycho. But I was thinking I need him to feel good for when the baby comes out.

I'm pretty shy and a total people pleaser, so yeah, I went out of my way to try and be nice. I don't know why I bother - I mean, it's not like the expect a woman to be at her sweetest during childbirth! It's weird.

I work at the hospital where I'm giving birth (awkward, I know!) so I will probably try extra hard to be an 'easy' patient. Our insurance changed and my work is now the only hospital within an hour that's inside our network.

I tried my hardest to be polite I know their job is hard and guess that they often see people and families at their worst! I wrote down the names of the two nurses that went above and beyond so I could make sure to send positive feedback on the discharge survey.

I'm a neurotic people pleaser, so I tried to be agreeable. When I arrived at the hospital, I was really dehydrated and the nurse had a terrible time finding a vein for my IV. It took forever and I felt bad because it was the last thing she needed to do before shift change, so I kept apologizing -- in retrospect, I wonder if that was more annoying to her than not being able to get a good vein!

I started to cry and vomit (delusional of no sleep & 18 hours of labor) because I felt like I wasn't giving the (mean) nurse what she wanted. I was pushing my hardest but nothing was happening, later to find out my body was just not built for the size of DD. My first nurse was amazing, I wish I would have had her when I was pushing.

Haha yeah, they kept telling me not to push down my body and not in my face (the first few pushes I was squishing my face up). DH said I looked pretty funny making a conscious effort to keep my eyes open and face smooth when I was pushing. I kept apologizing for the constant vomiting (well I kept apologizing to everyone for that) and for how long it was taking to push him out.
