I can't decide what I want LO to sleep in once we get home. I have a RnP but it worries me to use something that isn't meant for sleeping... especially after reading reviews that it causes flat spots. What did you use?

We used the Arms Reach mini co-sleeper from the time we brought DS home until he was 5 months old. We didn't have it against the bed, so it functioned like a bassinet.

I used the Rock and Play and we had no problems, and LO has hardly any flat spot at all (but I think that's more because she barely slept and refused the stroller when she was really little and was pretty much held or in the moby for 20 hours a day).
If that didn't work we probably would have used the bassinet piece of our Uppababy stroller.

We used the bassinet from our stroller and it was great. Lo slept in it for the first 3 months, and then we moved her to her crib. Does that bassinet have wheels? That was a feature that we found really useful...

We have an Arms Reach mini co-sleeper that we are using as a bassinet (not against the bed) and LO is 5 weeks. We plan to use it until LO grows out of it.

We are still using our UBV bassinet at 3 months...she started STTN in it at 4 weeks so I'm nervous to move her to the crib!

We had a beautiful Serena and Lily Moses basket that LO slept badly in for a few weeks until we started to cosleep. I think it would have been ideal for a bebe who could have slept on their own.

Nope, we used a combination of the swing, regular Pack n' Play and the crib from the start. We didn't see the need in buying anything that we would use for such a short time.

No, my LO hated the bassinet. He slept in the swing or nap nanny for the first 3 months.

We used an heirloom wicker bassinet and the bassinet off our pram until moving LO to her cot at ten or so weeks.

We had a bassinet but LO hated it, so we didn't use it. We wound up using the Snuggabunny bouncy seat in the early days when we were trying to transition away from co-sleeping.

Thanks everyone! I think we're gonna pick up a pack n play before we head home tomorrow. And since my mom lives out of state, it will be convenient to have one anyway.

We used a bassinet, but it wasn't a separate purchase, we bought a crib that is a bassinet first, then crib, then toddler bed.

We used RNP. I don't think Id do it again. He has a stiff neck and flat spot that I don't think it caused but I know it didn't help. Now we are having a hard time transitioning to a flat surface.

We have a wooden cradle that her grandpa made that all the grandchildren sleep in. We only used it for three weeks though before I transitioned her to her crib in her own room. It was a great spot for her to sleep in the early days and nice to have her near by, until her grunting got the best of me and she got the boot!
When she sleeps away from home we use a PNP and she sleeps great in it, no problems.

@Ash: I think that sounds like a good plan. I know so many people have trouble transitioning from the RNP to a flat surface. If your LO hates it you can always try the RNP, but if he doesn't then you'll save yourself a lot of time not having to worry about the transition. We transitioned from the PNP to crib without any problems at all.

@Ash: That's the exact one we have, just a different pattern. We never used the newborn napper part, but we used the diaper changing station every night for at least the first couple of months.

We used one for LOs first 4 months. She did ok in it but when she transferred to the crib she did sleep better.

@Ash: we got a stokke sleepi and it is still next to our bed. It has wheels and a small footprint. Was the best.purchase.ever!
