I'm so sorry for your losses. My doctor is very into evidence based practices and says that you're fine to start trying again immediately, just know that dating is going to be trickier. He likes doing 6 week ultrasound anyway and I am pretty neurotic about poas so I was comfortable with that. For what it's worth, I had a blighted ovum and miscarried naturally at 9+5 and still got the green light to try immediately. Also, you might not need to wait until you're below 5, you can actually ovulate before you get there so if you're really raring to go maybe give them a call.

I'm so sorry for your loss I've been given the advice to wait a cycle and also to start trying again. I think with a CP they only real reason it is recommended is for dating purposes (since your cycle can be a little wonky afterwards). So, basically I think the advice to wait is pointless.

My doctor technically recommended waiting after my loss at 7.5 weeks, but when I pushed her on the evidence (I'd done research) she said dating difficulties and my emotional health were the only real reasons.

I ovulated right on schedule after my loss if you count the first day of MC as CD1 and we did actively try. I got a few very faint lines on tests that month but then my period actually came a day early. I had a good cry, but I took it to mean my body wasn't ready to carry a baby just yet.

Know that it may be difficult to tell when you're ovulating - I was still getting positive OPKs up until the day I ovulated, so I couldn't really depend on those. I didn't temp, either, figuring it wouldn't be accurate, but I don't really know about that one.

@knittylady: I am so sorry for your loss. I had a CP in December 2014. It's still heartbreaking and I hate you're going through this. My doctor advised to wait although we just didn't prevent, in part because I was an emotional wreck (we'd already been trying for a year). Also for dating purposes I believe. It took me another whole year to get pregnant again, and that's my now three month old daughter.

@knittylady: I'm sorry I posted something similar to this after an early loss feeling out what other people did. My doctor also told me to wait a full cycle. I ignored her and didn't wait, and got pregnant with my son immediately, 3 weeks after the miscarriage was over. I think the silver lining of being extra fertile after a loss does have some truth to it. Good luck, hope you are healing and taking good care.

@knittylady: Both of my babies were the cycle right after a CP. Needless to say, we didn't wait. Good luck!
