Did you watch Sesame Street? Did you have a favorite character?

Oh yes!! Though I remember watching the movies even more, especially "follow that bird!" I think snuffy was my fave
Or if we're including muppets too, miss piggy was definitely my favorite!!

I loved it! I would always challenge myself to remember the number for the day and the letter for day, I liked the grumpy character that lived in the trash can ( cant remember his name) he was my favorite. I dont really remembe if elmo was on when I was young

@pui: Bwahaha, as was I! I was also creeped out by Nanny's legs (Muppet Babies) because they reminded me of Big Bird's.
I was a fan of Snuffy and Grover (and Super Grover especially) ;but probably liked Bert and Ernie best of all.
There was a Sesame Street store in our mall growing up; I think I owned every book. I still say I'm having a 'Grover's Bad, Awful Day'.

I was obsessed. I remember running in a circle around our open floor plan house with the opening music every time it came on. There was so much joy in my heart that I couldn't contain it! I started watching just a few years after the show started and continued watching (occasionally) through all my sibs... so that meant I did catch the beginning of the Elmo era.

@Mrs. Jacks: I think Elmo started in 1984 or 1985!

@autumnlove: In 1984 my youngest sister was 3, so that would be about right.

Yep, I watched it. About a month ago, Plaza Sesamo came on a Spanish language station. LO and I watched that. For him, he probably understood it better than me since he hears Spanish everyday.

Yes, loved it! I loved the real life video parts of it too- Me And My Llama and Hard Workin' Dog were favorites... go figure I went into veterinary medicine!

@lemondrop: Have you rewatched me and my llama? It's so weird. They walk this Llama through Brooklyn or Manhattan or where ever it is, walk it down stairs in a brownstone to get it seen. I thought it was totally normal as a kid, but that is so weird!

@Mrs. Jacks: lol, I know- crazy stuff! I grew up on a goat farm out in the boonies, so I just assumed that people in large cities kept their livestock in their backyards like we did I do know a vet in NYC, but she does not see livestock.

I'm pretty sure Sesame Street is one of the ways I learned English (immigrant parents). My favorite was Barkley, the huge dog!

I watched it every morning. Grover was my favorite & my dad did a great impression of the count!

I loved it until i was well into elem. school. Now I don't care for it though. It seems really weird so I rarely let LO watch. I loved snuffle, the wooly mammoth. Can't spell snuffalufagus. He was invisible to everyone but big bird and one day they changed it so everyone could see it. I didn't like it as much after that.
My mom said I learned Spanish from SS and would always ask for water by saying 'agua'.

1,2,3,44444,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12..... I love Sesame Street. I still can't believe that some of the cast is still on it. I learned my first word in Spanish. "Agua" This is one show that I can't for LO to watch.

Yes and it was WAY better back then. There is so much filler on it now. I dislike Abby's fairy school so much!
