Or take some time off before?
The plan is to work until I have this baby, but I am so antsy and anxious and cannot focus at work!

my baby was born 2 weeks early so i left work on wed like normal and my water broke early thursday morning and i called to say i wouldnt be in. For me disability pay would not kick in until i was admitted to the hospital and i still had to cover the first week with vacation time. I didnt have more vacation time to cover if i had taken off any days before labor started.

Yup! Plan to do the same with this one baring any complications.

I did because I wanted to save all my days for when DS was here. I worked from home the two weeks up until I was induced though and that definitely helped take the edge off a bit.

I'm due March 19th and stopping work on Feb 28th.. I'm in Canada though so we get a year off.

Yep! I was due 11/18. my last day of work was 11/16. didn't go into labor until 11/20! ( I worked from home the last five weeks of pregnancy tho )

I worked the day before I went into labor! I didn't want to take any time away from baby.

I worked through the last week and then my water broke at 38+2. I had to call and let my boss know I wouldn't be in that Monday since I was planning to work for another two weeks.

I worked from home the last week and worked until the day I gave birth.

I planned to work until the Friday before my due date, but got antsy and unfocused at work, that I ended up deciding to finish on Tuesday. I ended up getting admitted to the hospital early Thursday morning, so I only had 1 day off.

I went into labor on a Monday afternoon (2 weeks early) and I was working from home that morning. The week before that I worked in the office. I wanted to save my leave time so I could take more time off after the baby was born.

Yup, I worked until the day before I went into labor! I wanted to save all my 12 weeks leave to spend with DD but I also worked from home. I plan on doing the same this time around though parents of 2+ said it's not a bad idea to take a week before due date to spend with LO#1 before LO#2 comes along. I'm still undecided.

My Dr put me off work at 36.5 weeks for pregnancy 1 because he hated my 3+ hour commute. Delivered at 41+2....I was bored!
I worked up to 37 weeks with pregnancy 2. Delivered at 39 weeks.

I was supposed to work from home for two weeks before the due date; lo and behold DD decided to enter the world two weeks early, so I worked up until she was born.

I planned to work right up to my due date, but i went in to labor on Martin Luther King Day (a holiday) at work, so the friday before that was my last day unexpectedly.

Contractions started while I was at work! But I definitely couldn't focus as much those last few weeks (months)!

Yep! I had my lunch packed for Monday when my water broke Sun night.

I worked until the day after my due date. It was a Friday and I planned on that being my last day, but I went into labor that night anyway. I didn't want to use up any of my time before the baby was born.

Yep! I left work to go to my 38 week appointment, and left the hospital a few days later with LO. I had an unplanned induction.
nectarine / 2878 posts
Yes! I worked up until the day before my induction (39 weeks, 6 days). I even thought about working a half day since the induction wasn't until 5 but stayed home with DH instead, so glad I did that!

i worked up until i gave birth otherwise the time i took off beforehand would be taken away from the time i could take off from work AFTER
bananas / 9118 posts
Yes, unintentionally- I originally planned to stop at 37 weeks, but work needed help and I was bored, so I worked up until 39 weeks when I decided I had enough commuting. I went into labor the next day.
Hoping to work as long as possible this time too, I have far less PTO available and want to maximize that.

Yep, both times. DD-worked from home until Wednesday was induced on Thursday; DS-worked in office until Friday was induced on Sunday
grapefruit / 4554 posts
With #1, I worked up to 2 days before my due date and ended up 3 days late. And with #2 I worked a full day in early labor and was admitted into L&D the next morning.

I did by accident. My last day was 37w2d and I'd planned a few weeks of rest at home to prep. My water broke that night!! She was born 2 days later on 37w4d
I'm going off at 36w this time to make SURE I have some rest time!
persimmon / 1165 posts
I worked up until the very day I went into labor 36w6d, delivered the morning of 37w. I did start working from home remotely about a month before I was due, and did part-time remote, part-time in the office a few weeks before that.
I was scheduled to work until 37w3d, since I already had a scheduled c-section for 38w.

Yep! I worked until Friday before I went into labor on a Sunday. I was definitely not very focused at work the last few weeks.

Yep. I worked a full day at work. After work, I went into labor and had LO the next morning. I saved up all of my PTO for my maternity leave.

I worked until 6 days before my scheduled c-section (my last day was a Friday and my c-section was the next Thursday).

I stopped 16 days before my due date, and went into labour 12 days early. So I had a few days off to myself prior to going into labour.

I had planned to work up to my due date, and then work from home after. I ended up spending 7 weeks on bed rest (29-36 weeks) so I LOVED going back to work and working that last month. I ended up going into labor on my due date, so it worked out perfectly. I'll plan to work ( or, as it is, go to school) until I'm in labor, just like last time, in the future.
ETA: I used vacation time for the first 2 weeks of bed rest, then I was given the ok to work from home after that. My goal was to save what PTO I had left for maternity leave, and I'm happy I didn't use up too much during my bed rest. It would've made it harder to stay home as long as I did after X was born. For me, working as long/as much as possible was the way to go, but I had a desk job-- not physically demanding at all.

I worked up until my induction at 41weeks. The last week I didn't do much though because I had gauged my workload and didn't have much to do after my due date.
