My daughter has been saying Dada forever, but she flat out refuses to say mama. I try not to be offended, since it's just nonsensical babbling right now, but it's hard! I wonder when she will finally start saying Mama too!

Mine says appa (dad in Korean) and dada, but no umma or momma yet. Grr!!

Lala said dada unintentionally first and then mama on purpose first. So we both won!

When Jax is upset and he really starts crying it sounds like Mama. He hasn't really said it I don't think, but the people who are holding him always immediately react and pass him back.

@MungBean: My son said "appah" first too. He still says "appah" alot more than "umma". booooooo

It was definitely mama... But he uses that word for lots of things. Mama, milk, more its all the same sound to him..
