I don't think he ever had or would ever get baby fever. It's just not his style. He wanted to have kids (and we went through IVF, so he wanted them like $20,000 worth ), but never got mushy or emotional over other babies. He's really good with babies and likes holding friend/family babies, but it just does not make him want to have one! Also, he likes the idea of kids to play with and have fun with, but not tiny newborns.

I did the first time, he did the second time. There just came a point where we couldn't help but agree with each other.

Yea, he wanted a family earlier in our marriage then I did. I was 30 and we were married 8.5 years when DD was born. At 6 mo he told me her is ready for a second when I am and he often tells people that he would like 3 if I'm willing. I don't think you can really wait to try until DH has baby fever. Ms got worse after T was born and he is so in love with her- especially now that she is really fun and interactive.

OMG! Yes. DH had baby fever when we were dating and couldn't wait to get pregnant. He knew what our timeline was and abided by it, but he had crazy baby fever! lol I didn't even have the fever yet and I'm the girl!

My husband never had baby fever and probably never would. It's just not really in his nature. When we got married, we had a discussion about when we'd have kids and we just agreed on a year (2012). In 2011, I had HUGE baby fever and didn't really want to wait, but for other reasons, we had to. I spent the entire year talking about babies and how I was excited for us to start trying the following year. He pretty much just ignored me or was all "Uh huh" unenthusiastically, but that's just his personality. As soon as 2012 hit, I said "I'm throwing out my birth control!" and we started trying!

I'd definitely start talking to your husband and just nail down a timeline. Then just stick with it, unless he obviously resistant. My husband was never excited about babies or TTC, but he knew the plan and actively participated in it, so I have to assume he was okay with! Plus he's great with our two kids, so I know it was the right thing for us. If I waited for him to actually have baby fever, we wouldn't have kids.

DH definitely wanted kids but I can't see him ever getting baby fever. For one, it just isn't his nature and personality. And for two, he prefers the toddler and older kid ages to little babies.

DH and I agreed when we got married that there were certain things financially we wanted to reach before kids and a timeline for when we thought it was feasible for achieving that. As soon as we hit those goals, DH was on board to TTC (I had baby fever long before that that I had to keep under control).

Ohhh yes, he has it pretty bad right now.....

I never really have except when I was insane for a few months postpartum with #1 lol. DH has it constantly so he pretty much decides when we TTC lol. If we waited for me to be ready we would never have kids lol.
