My high school had a solid amount of school spirit... well short of Friday Night Lights though!
We had a number of athletes who later entered the NBA and the Olympics though, so I think that drove some of the enthusiasm.

Never went to any games or events. Hah!

OMG tons. It was an all-girls school and it was completely normal for students to spend hours after school working on skits, banners, assemblies, etc. Considering we had no football team and we just got worked up over ourselves, that was actually impressive!

We did! I was in band and we had lots of school spirit. We did lots of dressing up for homecoming, decorated our cars, etc.

Yes, we also had lots of pro and Olympics athletes, but I wasn't into that stuff so I never went to any games.

I'm sure it did in the grand scheme of things, I just didn't really care. College sports were much more fun for me, even though my colleges don't have that great of teams
