My water broke with E before I had any contractions. I'm curious about whether or not it'll happen this time too!
I was already 3cm dilated when my water broke so maybe that had something to do with it? No clue!

Yet another great question I'd love to see answers too! This is one of my nightmares now that I have a LO to worry about!

Nope. With DS my water broke at 32 weeks. With S labor started with contractions and my water never broke on its own.

I went into labor naturally both times. First time, I felt really early waves of contractions for a whole afternoon and evening... We ran errands, had dinner, went to BRU... All the while, contractions were soft, but regular.
The second time, I only had about 30 mins of mild contractions before realizing they were getting stronger and more frequent real quick. Basically, I didn't have much of that "early labor", or if I did, I didn't realize it because I was doing my morning routine of dropping DD off at preschool, cleaning up the apt in a frenzy before she came home, etc... By the time I got to the hospital, just 5 hours after the first contraction, I was already 9.5cm!

it started EXACTLY the same with both kids.
i took a nap, woke up, pooped, then contractions started! around the same time of day too (early evening).
but with charlie my water broke naturally (maybe because i got to 8 cm before my epidural). with olive i got my epidural at 3cm, and they had to break my water.

Omg when I read 'my water broke' I thought you meant it REALLY broke...THIS time!

Both times contractions started at 30 seconds/3 minutes apart, but the first time my water broke almost immediately and the second time it didn't break until I was pushing.

@Mrs. Bee: Lol I remember you mentioning this before and last weekend I went to take a nap while Elliot was napping and I totally thought "I hope I wake up from this nap with contractions like Mrs. Bee did!"
@babyjmama: You will be informed!!

@Running Elley: I just talked to my OB/GYN about this yesterday. She said some women are EXACTLY the same, they give birth exactly the same way each time. Some women don't. (how helpful, right?) With DD I was induced at 40 weeks 6 days, with DS my water broke at 37 weeks 1 day. I'm secretly hoping my water breaks a little early with this one too, to avoid a December 27th birthday.

Pretty much - I was induced with both LO but was 3-4cm when I went into the hospital.

Both of my labors were very similar; one of the only differences was that my water broke early with my first (at about 3 cms) and clued me in that I was in labor. With my second, my water didn't break until 6 cms, right after I got an epidural. Otherwise, both labors started at about 9:00 am, with light contractions 1 minute long, 2 minutes apart.

@Running Elley: it was a wonderful way to start labor because i got some rest and cleaned out my system!

SOOOO excited for you, and seriously can't believe it's almost time. It seems like yesterday were we sobbing over TTC #1...
I don't have any second labor stories, but just wanted to say that my first labor also started with PROM... but I probably was at fault since I was using EPO internally like it was going out of style. Ooops. Won't be doing that again.
