No we never taught her the word.

Yes, b/c my grandmother took something away from him & said "Mine..." then he followed suite!
With P we say "not yours". She may still end up saying that but I know it'll take a little more speech development than the 1 word, 1 syllable "mine" lol

YUP - but now she's in the "OK!" phase... so everything is "OK, OK, OK!" - I like this phase much better, haha!

I think it got worse with two kids. They both say it all the time!

She's in it right now. Her and her best friend will be sharing and playing together great and then all of a sudden one will get possessive of something and start with the 'mine, mine, mine' and football blocking as the other one tries to repossess the now most coveted toy out of 100s.
At the pool a lot of times kids come up and try to take stuff out of her hands so she started with an assertive 'mine' but now it sometimes is too much of a preemptive 'mine'. It definitely comes on much stronger the closer it is to nap/bed time.

My daughter got more possessive of her things at around 18 months.
