I've read a lot of comments saying that it gets better after they learn to walk and I think this happened with dd, but I'm wondering if it will last this time!

I think it depends on how old they are when they learned to walk. Mine started walking just after she turned one so i'm not sure if that's what contributed to her sudden 5am wake ups. But her sleep has been pretty great since passing that bump.
Fingers crossed for you!

@Freckles: how long did that bump last??? That is us and we are dyyying over here!
Lo started walking a few wks ago and his sleep is still not great--anywhere from 0-2 wakeup a. But it's been like that since 9 months or so.

Mine starting walking at 16 months, sleeping at 17 1/2 months and just stopped sleeping again a week ago at 18 1/2.
Those weeks of more sleep than less were amazing, but it makes it so much harder when they regress again!

LO is 18months and we're going through a regression. 18m is a common sleep regression.

So far (knock on wood) that hasn't happened for us. LO started STTN at the same time he started walking at 9mos. He's 15.5 months now and only has the very rare wake up and can put himself back to sleep quickly.

@hilsy85: 2 weeks. But i had to start putting my foot down, and didn't get her any earlier than 6am. Eventually, her wake up time moved back to 6-6:30am. But the 12 month regression is pretty common!! Hang in there!!
