I'm due next Sunday and my mom has now decided that she needs daily phone calls from me confirming that I'm NOT in labor yet. Woman, how about I just call you when I AM in labor?!? I know it's because she's just soooo excited but man she's crazy!

My crazy mother calls me every day (sometimes more than once) and I'm not even pregnant
She gets it from my crazy grandmother who also calls me daily....
My poor children will no doubt one day think *I'm* crazy for calling them every day. I'll blame genetics.

I had pre labor for 3+ weeks, so my mom was going crazy by the end. I started screening her calls & eventually called her (and the dozens of other people who were asking) out about leaving me alone. Then I didn't hear from her for a full week, until she asked my dad to call me
Yes, people are just excited, but it's soooo annoying!

My mom didn't have time to get crazy since LO came a little earlier than we expected, but she totally would have!! I can't imagine what she's going to be like when we have a second one.

Shit, my mom is crazy NOW. She wants to know every single little thing and I talk to her every day. She's going to be just as bad!

My mom slept in her clothes so she'd be ready in case I called in the middle of the night.

My mom was constantly calling and texting me to ask if lo had flipped yet... Like I wouldn't be screaming it from the rooftops if she had flipped! That was the only time my mom has ever called me on any regular basis.

My mom got crazier once I was pregnant...and is pretty much deranged now that LO is here.

She texted constantly, but with good reason. I was due on a Friday, she lives across the country and had a flight for the Sunday before my due date. She wanted to have enough time to hop a flight if I went into labor early. As it was she ended up flying in the Friday before her original flight once I told her they stripped my membranes.
My BIL, on the other hand, called like twice a day. And my MIL about once a day.

Not yet.. but she knows I'd bite her head off if she did that

OMG !!!! I AVOIDED HER LIKE THE PLAGUE!
She called like 4 times a day from the *day* I became full term at 37w. And every time I didn't answer: she'd call my husband. It killed me...
She was a little excited =)
Let's just say the excitement has yet to die down. Love my mama, though.

yes! every time I called her for anything, she picked up the phone and her greeting was "omg are you in labor" it was annoying and she definitely got crazier.

@Honeybee: @sweetchic: yes, I think I win for craziest mom. Not sure that makes me a winner though. It was her first grandchild, she was excited

YES!!! I'd get calls from her at like 7am just "asking how I was feeling." She'd call at least 3 times a day with the most obvious excuses lol.

@blackbird: Yes. This. Already crazy. And I'm still in my second trimester!

No, both moms were pretty relaxed about the whole thing. They knew they would be the first to hear when things started.

Yup ..she was excited but not annoyingly so. She did text me to ask if I was in labor yet and when I was annoyed (bc I would've called her!) she declared that she didn't think I'd tell her.
Funny enough, my dad called often the last couple weeks to just 'see how I was'..he was in the middle of one of those calls when my water broke! Lol

Thankfully neither my mom nor mil are being crazy. I've been pretty lucky w both of them throughout pregnancy

I'd get tons of emails and some calls asking how I was. Also, every time I called (because I was bored and super pregnant), she would ask if it was time when she answered the phone.

@artbee: that made me laugh out loud. Can totally picture my mom doing that too...

@jessibee, we didn't tell her until the first tri was over (too much crazy!) so, to be fair, a lot of it was bottled up
