E was and still is a very light sleeper. Even switching the light on in the bathroom can wake her up. As a baby, she couldn't sleep out and about in her pushchair and, at home, I kept the house silent with white noise beside her while she slept. E had colic so, when she wasnt sleeping, she was screaming. Consequently, I developed a lot of anxiety around noise and around her waking up..... which has never gone away.....

Baby #2 is due in about a month and I'm wondering how this is going to work with a rambunctious toddler...... or even with our usual routine. For example, in the mornings, E comes into our bed and watches songs on the TV while I drink my coffee and get showered/dressed. Its her routine so, even on lazy weekend mornings, when Im not trying to get ready, she likes her songs on... but there will be a baby sleeping in our room, wont it wake her up? Gah!

Perhaps this baby will be a better sleeper? Or her being awake wont be the worst thing ever, unlike her big sister?

But E is is still a light sleeper, what if the baby wakes her by screaming in the night? She still cant settle herself back to sleep if she wakes in the night. How am i going to deal with both? Gah.

Did you have this issue? How did you get around it or deal with it?
